Google would have to intentionally misplay their hand, or want to get out, for a competitor to be able to "take over" the video market imo. Youtube is diversifying to such a degree that it's hard to imagine a single competitor being able to win on all fronts. Twitch is still the place for livestream, arguably vine has cornered part of the very short form video niche, google seems to be making a play to try and compete with the likes of netflix. No one of note comes to mind to compete with the main part of youtube, except perhaps facebook in the future (in the same way google is trying to muscle in on facebook's social nonsense, facebook is pushing back in kind with video and its own advertising). If any external influence is to be youtubes downfall, it will probably be facebook.
