How long will YouTube keep on going?!

Google would have to intentionally misplay their hand, or want to get out, for a competitor to be able to "take over" the video market imo. Youtube is diversifying to such a degree that it's hard to imagine a single competitor being able to win on all fronts. Twitch is still the place for livestream, arguably vine has cornered part of the very short form video niche, google seems to be making a play to try and compete with the likes of netflix. No one of note comes to mind to compete with the main part of youtube, except perhaps facebook in the future (in the same way google is trying to muscle in on facebook's social nonsense, facebook is pushing back in kind with video and its own advertising). If any external influence is to be youtubes downfall, it will probably be facebook.

I honestly have thought about this since it stared really blowing up! I want it to last a very long time, but who truly knows what is going to happen. What happens if youtube gets so many content creators that all the quality stats to suck on it and it disappears. A lot of things on the internet have started strong and after a long time disappear.
I was thinking the same thing man! No one knows what will happen if there is too many content on YouTube. But stay positive, I really think YouTube will exist for 5 more years or more ;)

It's like eBay. There will always be other companies and platforms that try and reinvent the wheel, but ultimately fail. Can you see eBay going anywhere? Same with Youtube.
Yeah, that's a clear statement, maybe YouTube is soooo big, that it just couldn't disappear ;)

Maybe someday it'll be replaced by something else, like MySpace being totally dominated by Facebook. This new thing could be better or worse but YouTube is the number one right now and already has such a huge library idk if anyone would want to switch to a new site even if it appeared.
That's also a possibility of course! But I think it's too big to be replaced!

Thanks for the reply! Sounds pretty cool! And yes, Facebook won't stop growing I think.

YouTube is earning lot of money from the content creators, so as long as people are active on YouTube, YouTube will keep running long. Also as long as Google is alive, YouTube is also alive.

I think about this all time!! I also wonder what the young yters are going to do with their lifes if it goes down. like yt is their income and first priority what wioll they do with their lifes now
