How long till you got noticed...?

It took several months before my views and subs began to climb slowly when I uploaded my first video of a game I continued uploading about back in February 2011. Making video responses of your content to videos on the same topic and saying hello on said pages is a way to get a bit more recognized.

Well what i do know now is..

Doing LP's is not really a good way to start off xD..might work for some, but not for me

Since i cant find this anywhere (might be because i didnt search ''deep enough'')

I was wondering how long did it take you to get noticed?

The mean reason why im asking this is because ive seen channels with ex. 347 videos and only like 400 views. But ive also sene channels with only ex. 20 vids and 10k views.

Now ive only started out recently so i cant expect much but getting a couple more views then 1 or 2 on videos would be nice.

This might be the wrong seciont of the forum to ask but oke :p
But is it all about the tags/title/description? or did you also promoted your video like a madman on all kinds of diffrent forums (wich i did....yet no reply in a single one and thats from a month ago). Or did you just kept posting videos untill you hit that right spot and got in some decent views?

I think it depeds on what you have to offer, and how you do it. I know like one girl i subcribed i watched her grow from 65 subs to 130 in a couple o f days/ weeks. It's crazy, promote yourself A LOT! If you really want people to notice you, you have to go to them and promote yourself because there are so many people on youtube who have a lot to offer, but those who are really hungry for what they want get noticed a bit more.
And another sad thing about YouTube is sometimes, the way you look attracts people, but that's nothing to worry about.
Aslong as you create awesome videos, people take something out of your videos and you keep going and promoting then you'll be fine :)

It took me about 5 months to be noticed on Youtube. My genre(Rants/Reactions) is easier to get noticed than other genres like gaming channels because of how often the topics I talk about tend to be searched on Youtube.

And I know when to upload a reaction video right when the topic becomes trending with a catchy thumbnail. I'm even noticed by bigger Youtubers now. I'm being followed by Ray William Johnson on Twitter:),and I got likes on my videos from Youtubers with over 10,000 subs that generated traffic to my channel.

Hey Guys!
In order to grow your channel, I have a tip. Create facebook groups for youtubers related to your content. Allow them to post their content. This way they will be attracted and you will grow together. The main part would be title, thumbnail and content.

This is a very old thread and many of the original people posting in it are no longer active. I've locked it to prevent confusion about active threads.
