How Long Should An Intro/Title Sequence Video Be?

4-8 seconds should be enough time. I have a friend on YouTube who has like a 12 second intro, and it gets repetitive after awhile and its boring to sit there for 12 seconds before the video actually starts.
 
Depends on what you want to convey in the intro, how often you upload, the kind of content etc. This is your channel, you can go with what you like but just put yourself in the views position and think does this intro enhance your content or just distract from it.
 
Because the first 10 seconds will determine if a viewer stays or go I think that it should be between 1-6 seconds. That way they can see what you are about, but not be overwhelmed.
 
I pretty much finished my intro last night, I got it down to 8 seconds.

Obviously I'm gonna be biased but I think it won't get won't annoying, well I hope.

I'll be uploading evenly 2 to 3 times a week with the videos lasting anything from 10 to 20 minutes. So if a viewer was to watch a string of them I think they'll be spread apart far enough for an 8 second intro.

Once I have enough forum cash I'll post it up for your opinions, I would really love some feedback.
 
5 to 10 is golden usually those seconds are crucial, makes the difference between someone clicking away and staying though if you don't atleast hint to your subject matter withing 15 like a small highlight clip at the beginning before your intro that works well too, it works on me which is why we do that for our intros.
 
I've actually finished and started using my intro clip. I cut the beginning bit out and did a fade in so it jumps straight to it. It's an intro I'm always going to be changing and adding extra stuff to the main screen.

Somewhere between 3-8 seconds is ok imo. Especially subscribers will get bored if your intro is longer and they see it every time I think
 
generally i have two different intro sequences, one short one and one long one. I use the long one for multi part tutorials of which each video is 15mins + and the intro is about 10s

the short one is about 3 seconds and i use it for single part videos that are under 8mins
