How long on average do you spend making a video?

Not feeling so lonely now... While I desperately need to streamline processes it takes me about a month or 40+ hours.
Music take an immense amount of time to compose and prep in a time frame conducive to a video. Setup and tear down of my shooting area (which I did twice for the last video) takes up to an hour and for my last one editing took 2 and a half days about 15 hours.

This includes recording, editing, thumbnail construction, etc.
We should leave out rendering time and YT upload time though because nobody sits there and stares at the progress bar until it finishes (at least I hope nobody does!).
Also discount the time it takes to come up with an idea/write a guide because those vary heavily.

For me, it is about 1 hour to record (I usually end up having a lot of dead time, and sometimes I go outdoors to record and need to find a decent location), and then the editing takes me forever (though I usually have Netflix going at the same time). I'd say on average it takes me about 5 hours to edit a video and make all the images I use in the video as well as the thumbnail.

So about 6 hours for me, but that could be off because rarely do I do it all at once and I often browse the internet every 15 minutes to have a small distraction here and there. Actual editing time might be a bit higher.
Some videos take about 1 minute to record and about 10 minutes to edit, my longest took 4 days to record and about 6 hours to edit because I had to sit through 4 days of footage to edit out the s****y parts. I'd say on average though for my videos it takes about less than an hour to record and about 30 minutes to edit. That hour is usually spent getting different angles of my pups at the dog park. Time lapse videos take me about 2 to 12 hours to record and about 15 minutes to edit.

My videos take about an hour each. 10-15 mins per video to record, 10-20 mins for thumbnail, 10-15 minutes to render, and 5-10 mins to upload.

I'm about the same as you. I published another vlog yesterday, it took about one hour to record and 5 hours to edit.

I'm trying to get the whole thing done in under 4 hours, but something always goes wrong. My FCP wouldn't export the finished video yesterday and it took me over an hour to figure out why!

For my gaming it takes about 7 hours to create a week's worth of content. I usually record 1hr 30m at a time and the rest on editing, thumbnails, titles, description, SEO, etc.

Vlogging = 25 minutes recording, Synchronizing footage from 2 cameras and editing takes 2 hours, The final touch (re-watching the final product, fine-tuning and thumbnail creation) another 30 minutes. So around 3 hours.
Cars & Coffee = 3 hours recording off and on, Editing footage takes 4 hours, The final touch another hour. So around 8 hours total.
Car Reviews = 3 hours recording with multiple cameras and angles, Editing takes 8 hours, Final touch 2. So those around 13 hours (which is one of the reasons why I haven't done another one...).

Sometimes I am done quicker, sometimes it takes far longer. So take the numbers with a grain of salt!

Sketches take 5-10 minutes and the vlog/presentation itself takes +/- 30 minutes.
Editing takes a few hours, sometimes 2 days but it's just the same amount of hours spread over 2 days.

Writing a scripts: a few days.
Preparing the set + recording: 1-2 hours.
Editing + uploading: 2 - 4 hours.

Takes me about an hour or less to record, then about 8 hours or more to edit, then however long to upload.... The whole process takes about a day and a half? It's long, it takes a lot out of me, but it is so rewarding and worth it.

It definitely depends on the video! If I'm just talking to the camera, then probably 45 minutes to record, an hour and a half to edit, and then thirty minutes for thumbnail (I'm super indecisive and picky). So usually around 3-4 hours total. If I'm doing a DIY video or tutorial, probably about 6 hours total since they take a little bit longer to record and edit.
