How long on average do you spend making a video?

I Love YTtalk
This includes recording, editing, thumbnail construction, etc.
We should leave out rendering time and YT upload time though because nobody sits there and stares at the progress bar until it finishes (at least I hope nobody does!).
Also discount the time it takes to come up with an idea/write a guide because those vary heavily.

For me, it is about 1 hour to record (I usually end up having a lot of dead time, and sometimes I go outdoors to record and need to find a decent location), and then the editing takes me forever (though I usually have Netflix going at the same time). I'd say on average it takes me about 5 hours to edit a video and make all the images I use in the video as well as the thumbnail.

So about 6 hours for me, but that could be off because rarely do I do it all at once and I often browse the internet every 15 minutes to have a small distraction here and there. Actual editing time might be a bit higher.

If its like my recent videos where it's just me talking to a camera it only takes about 10 - 15mins or so to record and 20mins to edit. If I'm playing a video game like FIFA which is on my channel sometimes it takes me up to 30mins to record (only over if I do stuff wrong) and 1hr + to edit.

Thumbnails - 20-30mins

Total (based on recent videos) = 50mins

It really depends on the type of video I'm making that week. A simple one shot song cover will take about 2 hours max but a multi shot song cover with multiple self made backing tracks can take up to 2 weeks of 2 or 3 hours a day. A vlog can take about an hour while a story cartoon can take a month if I make the drawings detailed.

As many of my videos are about DIY projects like bow building or timelapse photography just recording the footage can easily take weeks to months. So it's quite hard to stick to a schedule.

My one I'm working on is going to take me an estimated 40-50 hours.

I'm really stepping up my game in this next animation.

To put it in perspective, I have about 3250 frames to draw, taking about 20-30 seconds per frame.

Honestly I'm just hoping to finish my next video sometime in July xD

And I wonder why I still have a tiny subscriber base!

On the first day I usually record about 1 to 1 and a half hours, but this depends on how much content there is in the video.
Then I usually wait until the next day or the day after to edit the video, which takes around 2 hours due to my laptop not being that great :/ On the same day I compress the finished video which takes around half an hour or less, and then I make the thumbnail, which again takes half an hour or less :P
