How long does it usually take to be a successful YouTuber?

I think it will be different for every person. For example, I have a friend that has been making videos for a couple of months that already has 1.5k subs, while I have been making videos for over a year and a half, and just reached 100 subs. You never know who will discover your videos, and help you get subscribers a lot faster than another person, so there is no magic number that will fit everyone.

I think it really depends on a lot of factors, and there isn't any guarantee that if you spend X years making videos you will become successful. The more videos you have, the more opportunities your channel will come up in a search, so I think there is an increased chance with more videos over time. However, I've noticed that a lot of "successful" YouTubers (at least, how I would define successful..) seem to have been making videos related to their current channel niche for about 5 years. Sometimes, they have been making videos for even longer, but their older videos aren't really related to their current content. The YouTube algorithms have changed since then, so it's really anyone's guess what will happen in the future!
