How long does it take you to shoot+edit 1 video?

Oh, that is an absolutely genius idea. If I ever have enough ~camera energy~ to record more than 2 or three videos, I'll definitely try that method out. My SD card is really big, so it would be more likely that my camera battery dies before my SD card fills up!

Although, the point isn't to save storage space, it's to save time....

Haha, yeah my camera battery dies too xD While the videos are importing, I'll charge my battery. To kill time as the batter charges, also take a drink of water before my next few videos that I'm shooting, as well as start any time consuming edits in Final Cut (i.e if I need to adjust the exposure on 6+ minutes of raw footage, it could take a long time :p).

The actual filming and editing of my videos usually takes about an hour...even recording the violin parts takes around 10 minutes lol. But composing the harmonies and writing out the backing track takes hours upon hours...like anywhere from 12 to 20 hours or so.. >.<

We film our test and that might take an hour or so. Then we film the intro, outro and commentary later, so maybe another hour there. Then I take it all and edit, which usually takes several hours spread out over a few days because I have to wait till the family goes to bed. Making the thumbnail might take an hour, then uploading and putting in tags and other SEO stuff might be an hour. Really depends on the video we are shooting. My bro is super impatient and always wants to go home, whereas I have very little free time.

Ooh you're a musician?! SO COOL!

I know that when I first started posting videos, it used to take me 30-60 minutes to shoot a 4-6 minute video, and then another 1.5-2 hours to edit. Now I feel more comfortable in front of a camera & using Final Cut Pro, so I can shoot a 4 minute video in about 15 minutes, and cut the editing down to about 1 hour (unless there is lots of editing that needs to be done, such as jump-cuts, adding lots of text, adjusting exposure, etc). If there is lots of editing, then it will still take me 1.5-2 hours.

It kinda depends on if it's a talkative video or not but mostly I record within an hour or two.
Editing does take me allot longer because I've been using my green screen allot so it has grown to 3 hours minimum to get all my editing in and me to be happy about it. My vids try to stay under 10 minutes!

Well, for me (talking about my theories), mine are more editing heavy, but every video's editing time just gets longer for me, so yeah... upwards of 20-40 hours ? It seems to be paying off though, as my viewers seem to be noticing and appreciating!
