How long does it take you to shoot+edit 1 video?

It takes me between 1 to 2 hrs for each video. For a commentary video, the filming takes like 15min and then I spend 30-45min editing. For a funny moments video, it's usually more around 30min of filming and then an hour to an hour and a half of editing :)[DOUBLEPOST=1473710080,1473710030][/DOUBLEPOST]It takes me between 1 to 2 hrs for each video. It really depends on the type of video. Filming can vary, Whilst I was in India I daily vlogged so it took a whole day to film. And I'm still working my way through the edit a good month later after returning haha.

soo long, going to start making a story board for what i want to make rather than filming tons of footage and trying to create a good video

I know that when I first started posting videos, it used to take me 30-60 minutes to shoot a 4-6 minute video, and then another 1.5-2 hours to edit. Now I feel more comfortable in front of a camera & using Final Cut Pro, so I can shoot a 4 minute video in about 15 minutes, and cut the editing down to about 1 hour (unless there is lots of editing that needs to be done, such as jump-cuts, adding lots of text, adjusting exposure, etc). If there is lots of editing, then it will still take me 1.5-2 hours.
I used to hate the sound of my voice so it took me ages to record my mic and put very little editing into the video. Right now it's quite the opossite lol. I record my audio for about 15 minutes for a 10 minute video and I spend 2-3 hours editing ( sometimes 4-5 hours). It got more and more enjoyable as I spent more time into it

Oh man, I used to be in the same club of not liking my own voice. I also used to be very self conscious over very little things appearance wise (i.e where I positioned my hands, if I sounded too monotone, etc). At the end of the day, I used to "self-anaylize" myself far too much.

It really depends on the video. But a motovlog is usually shot in an hour, as is a car vlog when I do them.

Car shows? Take hours to shoot. As do the car reviews. The car shows and car reviews are also the most labor intensive to edit. Total time for those? 3 hours to shoot and 7 hours to edit. Sometimes even more than that, but seldom less. I try to push myself further and further in my productions.

I usually sit and record a few scripts at once. I just switch the shirt I'm wearing in between each script and go! So, typically if I'm recording for two videos, each to be ranging about 3-6 minutes, I'll be recording for approximately 30 minutes. Sometimes, if I am feeling nervous about the content, I will find myself doing multiple takes of the same thing in which case it can take up to an hour.

Editing one video usually takes me about 45 minutes because I am going to get distracted at least once every five minutes. LOL.

Nice, I've also been pre-shooting videos recently, because there are a lot of different categories of videos that I've been uploading haha. I've found that an efficient way to shoot+edit is to:

a) Shoot 2-3 videos
b) Stop shooting & plug memory card into my laptop. Start importing the 3 videos
c) Put a new SD card in my camera and shoot another 2+ videos.
d) Start editing the first 2-3 videos that I shot, since they have already rendered by now

I've found that this saves a lot of time!

Oh, that is an absolutely genius idea. If I ever have enough ~camera energy~ to record more than 2 or three videos, I'll definitely try that method out. My SD card is really big, so it would be more likely that my camera battery dies before my SD card fills up!

Although, the point isn't to save storage space, it's to save time....
