How long does it take you to make a video?

I know that this would vary a lot depending on the type of video you're looking to create, however, I'm interested to understand from others how much time and effort you're putting into your videos?

For me, it takes may 2-3hrs per video. To source the info, the stick it in Premier or AE to - perhaps a total of 5-6hrs with rendering and uploading.

How about you?

I use BLUE SCREEN, so I render my videos in chroma keys takes 1 hour each clip, total 4 hours, then I edit all the clips into one video, takes one hour for editing nicely then I take break, then next day I rearrange the clips, it takes 2 hours. Then upload :D

Depending on what type, 10-30min thinking of idea (More if we abandon an idea and try a new one), 15min-1hr to record a decent take, 1hr to edit, then a lot O' hours to render and upload (I just leave it overnight ;) )

Since i have my schedule of uploads every tues, weds, fri & sunday it's much easier for me to plan things out. So what i do is...
*On sunday i'll think of all the vids i'll be wanting to upload next week (15mins)
*Write them all down so i can schedule filming days (15mins to figure out my weekly plans)
*Filming my typical video would take about maybe 30mins (sometimes i'll film multiple vids in one day if im busy every other day so a good hour or two to get a few vids filmed)
*Set up of camera & lights will take an effort of 15mins
*Transferring & editing the clips can range from 1-3hrs depending how long & what the vid is
*Uploading the vid on youtube will be overnight but usually says it will take about 2-3hrs (i would be sleeping)
*Advertising the new video on my social networks will take only 10-15mins :)

For me, it depends how long I am recording. If I am making a multiple part uncut gameplay live commentary, I record for however long and then stop. I want to say 20-30 to a couple hours depending on what that video is going to be. If it is just a live commentary, I will spend about 10-20-30 minutes trying to gather sounds/video for the first captivating 5-15 seconds, the intro I have already placed, tweaking the audio for about 1-15 minutes, then just slightly tweak the outro for about a couple minutes to fit with the video better. For the other style I do, which are highlights, the same 10-20-30 minute captivation seeking is still there, then the going through footage to find highlights, so about 50% of the video time (skipping through the video), then audio tweaking, then fitting the outro slightly better. Then thumbnails can take from 10 minutes to about 2 hours, depending on how difficult and what I have to do for the thumbnail. Like if I had to individually mask 10 different things then combine them and mask again as one group of things, that would take longer, but one object and my usual style can take as low as 10 minutes, but averages to 20-30 minutes.

I guess it all depends on the type of videos you make. For me, 10 hours not including rendering time is pretty standard for a 3 minute video. I usually shoot about 8-15gb of GoPro footage then edit it down into 2 to 5 second clips, sync with soundtrack, add effects, create an intro then done! But I don't turnout nearly as much stuff as you guys. If I did my wife would probably divorce me.

For me, I think the most time consuming part is looking and editing stock photos for the video. It took me more than 18 hours. Editing the video is also time consuming, but I enjoy it very much so it's no big deal. Writing a script usually take me around 5-6 hours, it depends though, sometimes when my mind is like an ideas highway, I can finish the script for like 3-4 hours.
