How long does it take to get first subscribers?

I am a bit new to creating YouTube content, and I was wondering: how long does it typically take to begin generating a real audience?

I ask becuase the advice I hear for growing my channel is to be consistent and persistent, meaning I should upload regularly (I am trying to do one to two a day) and I shouldn't worry about not getting as many views as I would like. However, it would get discouraging to continue uploading videos to an audience that does not exist. It would be helpful to know how long it took other YouTubers to get a decent-sized audience, so I know approximately how long it will take before I find viewers interested in the content I offer.

I dunno. It took me two weeks to get my first subscriber haha.
It just takes time buddy

Time varies, depending on certain factors, such as promotion, people you know, content you create and how persuasive they look. It took me several weeks to get a little audience going.

I know how you feel. Im sticking to a 3 a week schedule (mon-wed-fri) but only have 3 subs, it feels a bit silly as I know that potentially nobody is going to watch it. Its actually very disheartening. However, I try to remember that even the biggest channels started by putting out vids to 1/2 subs too and they grew massively. All I can recommend is to keep your chin up, put your heart into your work and hope that as people slowly find you they like the content enough that they subscribe and become an active member of your community.

This is the modern "how long is a piece of string" question.

It is sooo random. To get subscribers people that like what you are putting out have to find you. This is a real needle in the haystack type of problem.

If you promote yourself to groups that are already familiar with the topic you are putting up onto youtube you should get some subscribers from that or at least some video views.

If you dont you will have to wait until someone stumbles onto your video and likes it enough to subscribe.

Everyone is for more or less saying it varies. Here's what I have to say about when you begin to grow a real audience. Chances are... it can be right away. However, its safe to assume that this growth will begin at a time extremely far off from now. The truth remains, whether it begins to grow now or tomorrow or 7 years from now... it all rides on whether or not you begin on your end as committed as you can be. If you give half-hearted effort or delay the effort... it may NEVER begin to happen. Thats the only truth in all this among the variables.

I was one of the lucky ones, who had a bit of experience before launching a new channel. I was able to get 400 subscribers in 6 months, through audience engagement, proper marketing and keyword hunting.

It's important also to keep on top of your niche, playing the latest games and staying competitive with your keywords can help bring in a lot of people very quickly. :)

I've got a couple of channels. I average 1 sub per 800 views. Views will equal subs not the other way round. Depending on your content, SEO, how many videos you do etc it could take a month or two to get to 100 subs.

I took a look at your channel and all of your videos are 1 day old. You're not getting views yet because such a new channel has 0 authority so your channel isn't a priority to YouTube and thus your videos aren't getting indexed as fast as others.

Get better channel art. Make something that's attractive and professional. The most professional you seem, the more likely someone is to subscribe.
