How long do you spend editing?

I edit weirdly. Sometimes depending on the video style I'm aiming for edit it non-stop for 5 hours till completion. Most times though I just edit for like an hour or two then go play a game for about an hour then come back to it.

Depending on the video, it could be 1 hour to 5 hours. For a simple let's play video, it requires very little editing. A funny moments video takes a lot longer for me though.

After I get done filming my sketches, it'll usually take me the minimum of 4 hours to edit the video, depending on how long the video is. It'll take me a full day to edit a video with a lot of effects in it such as a person flying, teleporting, etc.

For me, as a smaller YouTuber, it depends which video I am editing. If it is, for example, a Minecraft Redstone tutorial, it can take 30m-1h. For other videos, it can take longer.

My videos are super-simple, editing-wise, and the most complex (the cooking ones) only take an hour or two, at most.

You may want to think about logging your shots, if you have a lot of them. What you can do is upload every day you've filmed, watch the footage, and note the timestamps of all the different bits. This way, when you're going to edit, you can zip right to the parts you want and not have to sift through hours and hours of footage when you're ready to edit.

well for walkthrough's take me 2/3 hours as I'm familiar with my adobe premier. For informative videos, I like to keep it around 5/15 mins make so they take up to 4/5 hours. Rending is the thing that's takes the longest.

For music videos. It takes about 2-5 days total to get a song done (normally over the course a month due to singer coming down and so on). Then thinking of the video takes a good few hours and then shooting can take days. For example our cover of You'll Be In My Heart took 4 separate days to shoot. Then editing it took 48 hours or there about due to the amount of special effects (making footage look like VHS tape) and so on. So yeah, a well put together music video takes about a week total time to shoot. We got one coming up that's going to take longer since we're filming at my University in the white room with more performers and crew!

The vlogs we make take around 8 hours total to make each depending on the amount of animation in them :)
That's interesting, I've always wanted some form of animation, but I don't know an animator or have the skills and stuff to do it myself

It depends on the video for me too. For like Let's Plays I'll just try and let a lot of the jokes and what not come naturally and I minimally edit so you don't have to miss out any of the game, but I might fix up the audio a little bit, so like an hour to two hours. funny moments or even just some of the dumb little indie games I play there is a lot more editing that goes into it, like adding lil effects or cutting it up and then coordinating music, getting quality timing on jokes and etc, so like 5 hours or more generally

I have a huge amount of experience editing, so for something lighter, the max it will take would be 30 minutes, and a more complex video would put me right around an hour.

I take a few hours to edit a video since most of them require finding the right music (usually what takes up most of the time).
