How long do you spend editing?

I have a gaming channel. My lets play videos are simply drop and crop. So I spend at least 15 minutes editing lets play videos on a bad day. I also have story driven scripted gameplay which requires me to use voice actors. Those videos take 4 to 5 days to edit
 
4-8 hours after I get all the clips done. When I get too imaginative with ideas, which requires animation or layers upon layers of clips/images, then it can take longer. But typically, a straightforward video for me that is about 3 minutes long will take 4 hours with minimal animating.
 
It depends what it is. If it's a game walkthrough I'm editing it takes me like 2 hours. Just chopping away the bits where I run in circles for a while. If it's a tutorial, it takes a few more hours. The longest is probably a few days editing after a few weeks of recording. More like a long term project. On avarage I would say it takes me about 4-5 hours maybe to edit a video that's about 5-10 min long, but I still got stuff to learn on editing so I'm abit slow/not slow enough.
 
About 7-8 hours on my 4 minute videos, what with the various shots and the image overlays and the text overlays and the cuts. I really wish it'd take me less time, but it's good to hear I'm not the only one (': And it's great to hear that experience will drastically reduce your editing time, thanks Ninja and ChrisLegend!

Also, thanks xingcat and George Chen for the tips! Anyone else have tips on how to reduce edit time?
 
Haven't done much editing in the past few years but I'm getting back into it with the limited resources I have (movie maker) and spent about an hour doing simple edits for a 10 minute video.
 
Damn I do video games so my editing is a little more simple I guess. I do about 30 minutes to an hour to edit the video it's self then maybe an extra 30 minutes on audio when I use audacity. I feel like I need to spend more time on it now. What do you guys do to edit? I could use some tips, I use Filmora Wondershare.
 
Well it matters what video I'm making. It can take for me anywhere from 10 minutes to 1 hour or so
 
I spend around 1-2 hours per vlog, then another 30 mins to do my end card with my last three videos on it, once uploaded I add annotations to them. so overall 3 hours a day.
 
I think I spent somewhere around 4 hours on my first video, which had 15 minutes of footage that I cut down to 6 minutes. Honesty, it's one of my favorite parts of the process because everything comes together in the end and time just flies when I'm editing.
 
I do let's plays such as mario maker, bloodborne, smash, and super mario world hacks....I usually spend half to the entire day editing if it's like 2-4 hours. It may stretch to acouple days if I don't stay editing constantly. I'm not sure why it takes me soo long XD
