How long did it take your to get your first 100 subs?

Back in 2009 typically a few weeks to a few months.
But now.. Starting is the hardest thing.

Make videos you can be proud of showing your friends and family, there's a good start.
Make LOTS of videos, and over time delete that garbage ones.
Just have fun!
 
I think it depends on a few things, such as how good your content is, how many people are seeing it, and how many of those people are wanting to see more. When I first got 100 subs on my old channel in 2010 it was easier back then to get more views and subs, it seems now that It's actually a lot harder to put yourself out there in a way that gains you more subs in less time. A lot of the bigger channels seem to stand out way more than newbies, so we have to scratch and claw our way to the top really :/ but It's all worth it in the end!

My first 100 subs in 2010 came after about 1 maybe 2 months, I had not posted that many videos, but I'd made a small group of friends who helped me and promoted me.

Back when YouTube allowed video responses, that was where you got a LOT of people's attention, but now it's been removed - it's another thing that makes it harder for us newbies wanting to get more subs :(
 
Oh man, some people on here have gotten to 100 really fast O_O It took me a bit more than 2.5 years and it did start to pick up a little after I passed it. This month especially has been good with at least 10 new subs so far. :)

Hav'nt gotten it yet... so far about 5 months and at 44
 
I've looked it up in the past... and commented on similar threads. Although today I am too lazy (and not to mention tired) to look it up. But it was just shy of a year. After that growth came a lot faster. The counter is at ~590 right now. And that is at approx at year and a half.
 
3 months.
I have been posting religiously for the last 3 months, 5 or so videos a week. I think persistence is the key to success on this. The more content you put out, the more likely you are to be noticed on a ever expanding website.
