How long did it take you to reach 1k Subs?

I'm a bit more than halfway there and I know it's tough buddy, hang on there! I estimate it'll take me a few months more! Hang around in the forums reading guides from experienced YouTubers and you might get there very soon! :)
 
More than half of my time, which is about a year and a half. I had around 200 subs forever, until one day one of my videos exploded and over the span of a week, I gained 3,000 subs. Everyone I've talked to at my level and higher have talked about a similar experience of a single moment where they went from nothing to known, a moment that catches peoples attention. Be careful though not to confuse this moment as pure chance, because it has a lot to do with the quality and quantity of your content library in order to catch hold of people. You need to build yourself gradually before this explosion will happen, but trust that it eventually will as long as you work hard on making sure your videos are at and above the quality of the top competition in your target market.

I think that's pretty good. 42 subs in such a short time. I only have 4 after like 2 months of actively putting videos up
 
according to the wayback machine, i had like 150 subs in 2007, and 1,500 subs in 2011, so maybe like 4 years? i started in 06
 
Not there yet myself. I'm on 628 hoping to hit it in the next 4 months as im gaining about 100 subs a month at the moment. Good luck everyone x
 
I seem to have hit a wall at 25 so 1k seems a long way off. Then again, I've only been at this for 5 weeks so I'm not getting too impatient yet.
