How long did it take for your channel to grow steadily?

Honestly, it really depends on how often you upload, and how entertaining it is. As well as the biggest contributing factor of if you are enjoying uploading what you are uploading. The viewers can truly tell if you enjoy what you are doing.

Go check out my channel Stokenheimer123

I think the biggest thing for me was learning how everything worked and what worked for me.

First of all I found that I was just uploading anything. I then realised little things like there was silence at points in my videos etc...

Just learn as you move forward, as you improve, so will viewer engagement.

I had very slow growth, but just because it's slow doesn't mean you wont get there someday!

For example:
I kept a small graph of my sub increase gathering what info i could (mostly from the wayback machine and milestones i saved snapshots of)

I hope this encourages someone out there, that even after 7+ years the ball can just start rolling for you. keep improving!

Important point -- if i still made vids the quality i did in 06, I'd have a stagnant channel. BUT also, if I gave up at any time over those first flat 7 years, then the channel wouldn't be what it is today (currently year 10), and I'm really proud of how it slowly climbed up like a snail on a mountain. - Please do not give up if you enjoy what you do :)

YouTube reminds me of the term 'style' and the ones who are successful have found their fashion.

I have been doing youtube since 2011 and I have 434 subs but almost all of them I got In the previous 2-3 mounts when I started to make better high quality videos, so just learn some new editing tricks or try a different video style.
Ohh so the quality of the video definitely makes a large impact to the growth of a channel, huh. I'll definitely try to do some editing tricks and stuff sometime

I've been on youtube so far for around 3 years (since mid 2013) and I haven't got the point of steady growth yet, but my quality and uploads were like of sporadic until 2015/2016 so i'm not surprised!
