How important is sticking to upload schedules?

Hi everyone.

I got back from India a few weeks back and have so many videos I can't wait to share. I usually upload every sunday, however, I just feel so excited to get these videos out there I'm thinking about just uploading as and when (or even maybe a Wednesday and a Sunday so there is still some routine in there)

What do you think? How important is it to stick to your upload schedule if you have one?
 
I'd say it's pretty important to stick to an upload schedule if you have one. You want your fans to know when your videos will be uploaded, and that will get it a lot of traffic, which makes it so youtube can possibly suggest your video to other people
 
It is very important: If your fans know when to expect a video, they will be there waiting for it - if you upload off-schedule some people may miss it - If I ever have a video ready early i just work on the next one, and try to get as far ahead as I can. Sticking to an upload schedule shows consistancy and reliability, which are important traits to have
 
If you have one probably important. But if you don't you're winning! No pressure, no deadlines and people know your schedule is infrequent and not any given day.
 
I used to upload on my regular day, Tuesday, and sometimes (maybe every other week) I would upload on a random day. The 'random' videos did just as well as my scheduled videos. But now the days of abundant uploads and a lot of time to make videos are over because of school. I would say just wait til the rush/excitement is over. If the videos are doing really well, then you could start uploading twice a week.

I don't really have one and I usually upload every other day. With a few double uploads a day every now and then. However, the one thing I do stick to is the time I upload. It's always 4:30 PM EST. Whenever I upload either earlier or later than that time I get significantly less views. If your subs are used to a certain time I suggest you notify them that you'll be releasing videos at said days/time. That way they won't miss out on what you're putting out. Best of luck!
 
Besides your fans...upload schedules help YT algorithm if you put out videos the same time every day
 
I think that it is super important to stay consistent. It tells youtube that you are a dedicated youtuber and that you will post a lot of content. This can go to your advantage later on when your videos will be ranked higher on the search engine
 
I think it's important but I also tweak my upload times during the year. Our viewers have a different peak viewing time during summer vacation compared to the rest of the year, same with Christmas vacation. But if they have come to expect videos on certain days of the week, I wouldn't stray too far from that.
