How Does A Channel Grow With 0 Views and 0 Subs?

Funnily enough I had the opposite issue, but am now in a similar position. My first couple videos exploded for absolutely no reason. I got over 60% of the total views on my channel from a couple of unedited crappy videos (Im talking 400 views on a single garbage video), but gained little in the way of subscribers. Now it seems that even though Im posting edited and more thought out content, Im lucky to receive 10-20 views. Its odd the way things work out, but honestly, don't let the view and subscriber count get to you. remain focused on producing content that makes you happy, and satisfied. Play games that you enjoy. Good things will come your way eventually. :D
Thanks that was my attitude and still will be my attitude is to just focus and making good quality content thanks for the advice :)

What @CraftersMagicYT said but one thing is more important than all of those which is to be Consistent with Yourself

I see many people begin a YouTube channel and have all this planned in their head but when it comes to actually doing it sometimes people find it a struggle, no motivation or have a blank mind and eventually give up.

The hardest part is staying true to yourself and being yourself on a platform where you expose yourself to the world.

Channel art, thumbnails, descriptions, titles, TAGS TAGS TAGS and social media (facebook, reddit, yttalk, damnlag etc)

Do all these things in the first few months and you will get flying :)

OH AND BE CONSISTENT WITH GOOD QUALITY VIDEOS :)

Seriously its that easy but you will find its a lot harder to do all that stuff then you think ;D but we all have the commitment

Yep follow this advice! Seriously if you are new to this then promote. Get cheap views by getting your friends to watch.
Correct titles and tags are super important to getting random people to watch as well. Heaps of stuff on this site can help you with that.

Stay topical (in gaming I guess that means getting the newest big game on its release day and uploading that same day).

I do comedy/news so Im a very different channel but I will give you an example of topical.

My political videos, current news and starwars/comicbook movie videos all do well in searches because they are topical. People want to know more about them so they are actively searching for them.

One week I lost my Audio on my current video, so in a pinch I did a vlog style story about my day and shopping during Xmas.

This is by far my lowest viewed video. Even my least searched news videos continue to slowly get views every week, where this one got about 25 then died.

So try to be relevant is my point.

I started out commenting on YouTube channels that are my inspiration and it grew from there. I am quite sure I gained some subscribers from this forum as well. But the #1 thing I would have to say is share your content where it is warranted. Don't spam your channel. I dislike getting those comments "cool vid! check out my channel"

The best way to gain views and subscribers is to upload consistently and share your videos on social media, or tell your friends about them. Spend time to make sure you like the content you're putting out, and others will enjoy it too. :)

Try and give genuine comments/feedback on other Youtubers videos (who are doing similar content to you.) This way you will get yourself known in that sort of community, and perhaps more people will check you out.

All great advice here. Could some clarify on promoting on Reddit? I heard some horror stories of how bad the community could be.

Reddit is a different beast to any other social/forum site.
The users are very particular about shutting down self promotion, but in reality if you learn the site and really narrow your promotion to as specific a topic as you can you should be alright. there are alot of videos on reddit, but i found a subbreddit specifically for political videos that was great for me, brought in heaps of views.

Next time I had a sports video I didnt just post to r/sports, I used a subbreddit just for Australian rugby league and it was good again.

You just need good content and to post it in the best possible place. If it is relevant to the subbreddit you shouldnt have to many problems...

Everyone starts off at the big 0, so don't treat it as any more daunting of a number than another. I got my first few subscribers by sharing on Facebook/Twitter and other social media. My friends and family supported me by being my first few subscribers! After that, it's a case of sharing your butt off and waiting for the rest of the world to notice!
