How do you guys stay motivated?

I've Got It
Hey guys, it's been a while since I posted. I really like YouTube, its where I spend most of my time at. So when I decided to start making my own videos, it was fun at the start but I started to slack off right away. I couldn't find the motivation to keep making videos. What do you guys do at situations like this?

I've answered this question at least like 165 times now lmao. But it's still the same. I love to do it. I love making people happy, I love making something that makes me happy, and it's just something I love to do. It's not work you shouldn't need motivation imo. :)

I agree with exactly what Michael has said. You shouldn't look as YouTube as a chore or a job, but rather something fun to do. Think of it as a video game, people make videos to "play' YouTube. Other watch. If video making isn't for you, then it is not.

When you think you're slacking, try these:
*Think up your next big idea! (you may not be making that video right away, but you can get ahead with planning it).
*Give yourself some channel goals.

Its tough as a new youtuber, but I've found these very useful for my motivation and for creating new content!

Try and think about what motivated you to begin with be it the excitement of entertaining others or having people connect with you, whatever it was just have a think about it. That works for me very well.

I get motivated and satisfied editing videos. Or whenever me and my friend recorded a good content, I love to get into editing and upload it!
Of course, I get motivated by my viewers who watch my videos. If there is ONE person watching, I should make a Video for that ONE person to watch =)

My motivation is looking in my analytics and seeing how many people watch my videos.
It's often hard work. Shooting and editing the videos is not always fun. It often is tiring, things don't work as they should and so on.
But it is for me always so exciting when I upload a video to see, whether it will be a fail or win and how people respond to it.

My job allows me a whole wack of time to plan ahead of time, you should try on your down time to do the same, it gives you something to look forward to for your next episode.

I can understand how motivation can drop right away.

You've uploaded a video and views trickle in and its not the hit you wanted it to be.

My advice is make the video for the fun of it. Enjoy actually making the video and spend time crafting it into something you're proud of. If you think you could have made it better then you may be making videos for the wrong reason.

I recently moved away from an old channel and started a new one, not for the reasons of this post but because the dynamic wasn't right.

But now, with a new channel my motivation is higher then ever. I have no videos right now and have a chance to make the first one great. Will it get lots of views? Probably not but I can say that I put a lot of effort into it.

Ultimately, just keep making those videos. All the while you're not making a video you're wasting opportunity to grow your channel and develop as a youtuber.

Don't give up!

I have had this issue as well. I start to get spurts of motivation one day, then the next I don't. But just what everyone has been saying. It shouldn't be a "chore" to edit and upload. You should enjoy it! What I do is have goals for every video. Example: 5 views per video for my first few uploads. Because that motivates me to market myself THAT much more. Always have goals! Hope this helped.
