How do you guys come up with video ideas?

Well for recipe ideas I have a whole backlog of them from my old blog which I'm remaking in video form. Also what I fancy for dinner as well. My latest video though......was not enjoyable in the slightest!

Recently, surprisingly, while driving. That's where the idea of squashing toys with the car came from. And just today on my way to pickup a Frozen Lego set on the other side of the city, I zoned out and came up with another cool idea for a playlist.
So it seems like the car is my "creative place".[DOUBLEPOST=1475580884,1475580764][/DOUBLEPOST]
We're a kids channel but I get my ideas by walking in the toy shop, just while doing my daily things but also from watching other peoples channels in the same niche I'm in.

Toy shop is a great idea, especially the discount section with toys at 50% off. Giant surprise eggs and surprise egg hunts are born here :)

random ideas popping in my head :/ usually happens when I'm having fun with friends, then I suddenly think of a a crazy topic and decide to make a video about it

My ideas just usually come to me randomly. I have a little notebook that I carry around with me everywhere so if an idea pops into my head, I'll jot it down so I can write the script for it later.

For the majority of my content, I just dig in the trash and see what I find (literally). I've also got a couple of videos planned that popped into my head when I found some cheap gadgets at Five Below.
works for us too, raid a skip, fire the welder up and make something hideous!

Most of my ideas come out of everyday life. I need something in general then think I could do a video on this.

After that I keep an eye on similar channels and I have a list of things I have noted that I could also cover at a later date.

My husband and I brainstorm together, and the kids chime in occasionally with ideas. Sometimes we get some inspiration from other kids channels, too. But right now we are mostly focusing on Elmo and Thomas the tank engine with a few other characters thrown in. So, it's more like: Gee what can we have Elmo do next? Which Thomas toys do we want to do? What will kids appreciate the most?

We are also trying to throw in some other kids toys, and some power ranger videos. All while trying to stay focused enough on specific themes to help feed the Youtube algorithm.

Since my videos are about really specific things (long hair for men, cooking with 3 ingredients, and self esteem), I just find things that relate to those topics. Recipes are easy, because there are so many of them. Long hair topics are pretty easy, as well. Self esteem (for George the Self Esteem Cat) is trickier, since it's kind of a narrow topic, but it's first and foremost a comedy puppet show, so we just try to make it fun and funny.

Some would say I don't have a brain because I'm a puppet but I like to watch youtube videos and then see where there isn't enough of the good stuff. For example if there is a particular channel I like and there are not many others or others that don't make it as good as you want it to be. OK my small brain is fried now. Thank you.
