Hey guys,

I'm new to Youtube (have obviously watched it many times - but just started my channel last week!) and was wondering how you guys draw attention to your Youtube page? Do you have other social media accounts dedicated to it? Also - is it possible to link your Youtube page to a more successful one? I have created a public playlist that has videos of other similar, much more successful pages on it, while adding my videos in there as well. Is this something that you would suggest doing?

Sorry for all the questions - as I said, I'm a newbie:)

Thanks for all your help!

Make a social media account for everything you think you can manage, tell your friends if you feel comfortable, use this site, and then maybe if you're lucky, messaging bigger youtubers on like twitter (When relevant) may work too! :)

Yttalk is a good place to get noticed, Also, make collaboration videos with other youtubers, and then you can cross promote each other.

Like everyone said, consistency & quality is really important. In my opinion, views are more important than subscribers. Once you start getting the views, the subscribers will follow. With that being said, SEO (search engine optimization) is VERY important. YouTube has been a huge learning curve for me, but I'm learning something new everyday! :D

Views and watch time are most important for me, I want to make some money as well as people enjoying my content. ;) If your channel is more about your art whatever that may be, a small amount of loyal subscribers might be best. I use forums, reddit and facebook groups to get views and hope some people will want to subscribe too as a second thought.

I will give you one sentence on getting noticed on youtube. It worked for me and I have over 225 000 views in 3 months.

The sentence is:

'Do something that no one else is doing, do something before everyone else even thinks about doing it'

Ponder over that sentence until you get what I mean

You have some incredible footage on your channel. Isn't it expensive to buy the rights to those clips, or is it mostly promotional/pr/news footage that is released to the media and it's re-use is allowed? Sorry to ask such a direct question... just curious.
