How Do You Come Up With Video Ideas?

So I was wondering how you guys come up with video ideas? Where/What are you inspired from? And how hard is it to come up with ideas?

Personally, I usually get video ideas from my surroundings, or what has been going on in my life, I do find it hard sometimes, as my mind just goes blank and I can't think of anything.
What about you guys?

I rant about #GamerGate so my job is easy. I basically see an event that makes me mad or that needs addressing and I basically just look it up and then write my notes of what I need to talk about in the video then bam start recording/editing. I dont script or anything I just do it off the cuff and the notes are there to help me push through so I get across everything I need to say.

When not making videos, I just find something, something happens and thus i want to make a video related to that thing

I try and look back on my successful videos and either make a continuation of them or get inspired from them, that and i have a notebook of sketch ideas I keep with me

I have a video on my channel called 'The Magic Penny' and how I wrote it was, I started off with nothing but the words magic penny and built the entire video around those two words. I tend to do that with a lot of my ideas. I hope you find this useful, :).

I have children in sweatshops in Cambodia constantly coming up with ideas for me, if they come up with a good idea they get to see their family for an hour

I think inspiration and video concepts are greatly over complicated or even oversimplified by many people.
A video some friends and I came up with was based on a couple buddy cops. We thought cops like donuts!
We ended up with "Donut Cops!" a successful video about two detectives that use Donuts as guns chasing the criminal "Croissant Killer."

With a lot of people I tend to see a lot of attention being brought to an idea or joke, rather than focusing into a storyline encompassing all of those jokes and gags.

Jokes and gags can start a video of course! And it's a great way to learn when acting on them in a short 5 second film, rather than not practicing at all.
