How can i tell where views came from?

Hey guys,
on my gaming channel (MrSkerz Has Gamez) i had an increase in views on my videos sometime within this month and i was just wondering if there is a way i could see where those views came from? if they came from someone popular posting my channel somewhere or if my facebook friends actually clicked on the link i posted or just if i just got lucky and the youtube gods were gracious to me. lol if there is a way to find this out, i would love to know so i could do whatever i did or go wherever i went to get that increase in views over and over again. and if im not mistaken, there used to be a way to find this out wasnt there?

I don't think it's as detailed like "It was posted on Facebook" etc. but you can click on Video Manager and on the left side go to Analytics and that'll tell you basically where everything came from.
 
you used to be able to tell exactly where all the views where referred from, but genius google decided.. hey, lets take away a great feature for absolutely no reason what so ever.

Oh well did not know about that, joined Youtube this week.
But yeah, Google's been making some...rather unpleasant? decisions lately with how they decided to operate all of their apps(not sure what to call it XD)?

Or there was a issue. Heck the main reason they've been so strict on copyright is because of a 8 year long law suit. You don't know why they do what they do, I hardly think theirs no reason for the stuff they do.

ok there might have been a reason, but i personally don't see what the statistics about where the views came from had a flaw
 
Yes, you can see where your plays are coming from. Click Playback Locations in Analytics. Then you can click one of the categories to get more information. For example, Embedded Player on Other Website will tell you what websites your video was embedded on.
 
thanks paullaskovids for the help. i have anoter question though... when i click on a certain point, there is a circle that shows up. whats that for?

when you go to Analytics then Playback Locations and just click on the graph anywhere on the line. there is a little circle that appears wherever you clicked.
