Where can I find people who owns blogs?

What do you make videos about friend? It really depends on what you make videos about, but what works amazingly well is doing a Twitter Search. Have you ever done that before?[DOUBLEPOST=1355644181,1355643828][/DOUBLEPOST]
Yep I have a gaming channel, so I have different games I play and also maybe 1 series / playlist for a game is 'how to' and the other is viewer submitted footage of the same game. With a schedule and shows, people come to my channel on the days they know I release footage of their favorite playlist or if they subscribe to a show they never see in their feed any of the other games or shows I'm doing. By dropping my shows and schedule I'm asking them to just watch my general feed because they never know what they might find. I think this is spreading my views out to more of my footage, which will help me draw in more people as all my videos are pushed up the search engine, not just 1 or 2 playlists / shows. This allows me to start up new video projects and ditch older ones, because the kind of viewers I'm going after are the ones who will watch all the stuff I put out not just the 1 playlist.

An analogy for a vlogging channel may be that you do rants and also maybe movie reviews. Having a schedule means the people who watch your rants lets say will be more likely to only visit on the day you do rants, watch the rant, and leave. It's worse with a show because their sub box will only have your rant videos; never the review videos. At least by dropping the schedule your viewers will be more inclined to watch your feed closer during the week to see when your rant video pops up. This means they'll be paying more attention to your feed each day, and are more likely to see your review pop up in the feed. If they really wanted to watch a video on your typical rant vid day, and they see a review vid instead they just might check it out! Not using a show I think has obvious benefits since the feed they receive will now show their favorite vids and also your other vids.

I've noticed that my viewers tend to watch mainly their favorite playlist / series. It can sometimes be hard to get them to watch a different playlist / series on your channel for whatever reason. Once they do try the new playlist most of my viewers tend to start watching that one as well.

The ones who don't want to ever watch anything but the one playlist / series I think end up leaving my channel, which is fine by me because eventually I'm going to get tired of that series and want to stop doing it in favor of my newer, more-interesting-to-me series, so in my opinion no loss there!

I definitely see what you mean my friend. People will just watch what interests them most. What I was wondering though is if you just made videos on a frequent but random basis, wouldn't people stop watching?

Let me explain. Let's say I was subbed to you, and I liked only the how to videos and let's say about 50% of your vids were how to videos. Seeing as I only like half of the videos you do, I would most likely unsubscribe and then find someone who focuses ONLY on how to videos. That way my subscription feed doesn't get clogged up with videos that I don't want to watch.

That being said, if you happen to have a super cool personality that people want to listen and watch no matter your topic, then having a schedule shouldn't affect your views because people want to watch you regardless of what you are talking about.

I hope that all made sense lol... I sorta just word vomitted all of thoughts into this reply LOL

Well let's be honest man, I checked your channel out and you upload videos like every hour or so, so of course schedules are not gonna work for you. I'm talking about a normal show which you air every week or bi weekly or so. It WILL work because people will look forward to it. But if you're uploading a different video every hour, people will just get annoyed and bored and will not want to watch. One of the most important things in the entertainment industry is leaving people wanting more. When this happens, they will want to come back every time. But if you have a video every hour, it will be impossible for people to come back every hour to watch. Plus I was talking about normal videos, not on a YouTube show, I was talking about a normal upload. All I'm saying is that is has worked for me, and it works for every single YouTuber at the top. Ray William Johnson, Shane Dawson, Jenna Marbles, etc, etc, etc. They all have schedules because they work. Otherwise they wouldn't bother doing it that way.

Haha well whatever works for you friend!! :D[DOUBLEPOST=1355722529,1355722359][/DOUBLEPOST]
You mean searching for people on twitter to promote my videos?

Sort of! What I meant was doing Twitter searches for things related to what you make videos about. Then you can follow them, become friends, and eventually after time they will start watching your videos because they like you! ^^

A lot of the ppl that watch my vids are ppl I found like that =) Then again I only have an audience of around 40 ppl, so maybe that wouldn't work for building a huge audience, but it's something that has been working well for me so far![DOUBLEPOST=1355722996][/DOUBLEPOST]

It's more like 2 to 3 per day, which is a lot different than every hour or so. A schedule can work if you don't categorize your videos, like you just throw up a vlog and it could be on any topic. Some people have a few series, each on a specific topic. This is the kind of channel I'm talking about. If you only do 1 video a week, then sure upload it on the same day every week. I think it helps grow an audience to do more than 1 video per week, especially if you are trying to do videos on the latest events like the Newtown shooting, RayWilliamJohnson makers drama, etc, etc. You'll have more chance to find new fans that way, and grow faster. Maybe instead of a 15 minute vlog on Newtown AND RWJ, split that to 2 vlogs each 7 min or so on Newtown and then the other on RWJ.

Of course since gaming is a much more populated market on youtube, getting a lot of videos out on the same game is paramount. If you look at the really big gaming channels, you'll see them upload 20 to 30 videos over a few days just after a new game releases, so their videos have a better chance to clog up the top 2 or 3 pages for that game in the search. And their fans actually LOVE that they put out all that content.

For example on how different the competition is between vlog type channels and gaming channels, check this out. I searched newtown and found 49k videos. Quite a lot of competition there. Then I searched Black Ops 2, and there are 2.2 MILLION videos. Good luck getting into that market!
