Having Non Believers

Wazzzup everyone =)

How do you guys deal with the non believers... that say you are wasting your time and your videos suck lolz

I am pretty new to youtube so I don't have a ton of content.. but most of my channel is vlogs,cooking and sketches... I try to upload every week but some days I can't cause I have a full time s**t retail job so everyday my schedule is different.. I love editing my videos and being in front of the camera.. it's my hobby outside of work but then I have people who are like....why... you make a video of you bitching.. or that sketch was not funny lol

I plan on doing YouTube until I am a old man LOL I can vlog in the nursing home :bounce: What do you say to people that say you will never get that many subscribers and you are wasting your time.... I just shrug it off but I have feelings too:cry2: :stomp: :furious:
 
Who's saying that to you? If it's someone in your real life, tell them to go pound sand. If it's someone online, block 'em. Really, you can do what you want, and there's nothing wrong with being on YouTube having fun.
 
if that's someone in your real life, that blows.... I've never had anyone tell me anything like that.... everyone is supportive and tells me the opposite, confused why I don't have more subs or a viral vid by now.... online people you don't know and hate on you, I think everyone will have that, big and small youtubers... but people in your real life saying that? Idk, they don't sound like the greatest friend if you ask me

It was a friend of mine -_- I know he was being honest but just because my hobby is different from his doesn't mean it's a waste of time[DOUBLEPOST=1455160161,1455159432][/DOUBLEPOST]

I have some people that are like REALLY? YOU have a youtube channel.. they are in shock because I am introverted at work and keep to myself... and had others say cool let me see,, i wanna be in a video lol.. So I have a mixture of people but everyone has their opinion.. .. One of my best friends said vlogs are stupid only girls do that......

I enjoy making videos even if they suck to some people.. I will keep making them

In real life people are neither supportive nor cynical of mine. Some people tell me they love my channel, but no one is especially supportive of me, probably because anyone who knows me knows I don't typically need emotional support. Normally they are surprised and curious what it is about. Often if they are in front of a computer when I bring it up, they want to see it. I don't think it is surprising because it is me, but rather it is surprising that someone they know has a channel. No one I know has one.

If someone told me that I'm wasting my time, I'd ask if they were concerned about me and just want me to get the most use out of my time, or if they are trying to tear me down. Often asking someone a question like that catches them off-guard and they will try to backtrack or soften what they said.

I just tell them I'm Asian so I would film stuff even without YouTube, it's in my blood. My girlfriend showed her coworkers the video in my signature and they were like "WOW, he has way too much time in his hands". Naturally my response was "If they had a Roomba, a twerking panda, and a GoPro, tell me they wouldn't have thought of doing that..."

I think if you aren't trying to make that your main source of income and it's mostly a hobby, they should have no reason to put you down. I'm sure the same people saying that post stupid s**t about a boring meal they just ate on Facebook. I can guarantee they have done an emoji with "feeling blessed" or posted a picture of pea soup showing what they ate for lunch. To each his own...
