Has Pewdiepie gone to far?

I think he is a really nice guy and does a lot for charities every year. I also enjoy some of his videos.

But I hate everything surrounding him like the amount of press he receives because of his sub count is getting annoying. I think there are way better channels out there but because of the colossal amount of promotion he receives from Youtube he has exploded, no matter where you go on Youtube there will be a Pewdiepie video.

I find the amount of subs a little suspiscious if I'm honest. He has 32 million subs yet he gets about 4 million views on average per video and when comparing that with other Youtubers such as Vanoss who has nearly 10 million subs and actually gets more views per video than Pewdiepie. I'm gonna go out on a whim and say that Pewds sub count isn't genuine and that they may have possibly been bought.

If that is the case it has definitely propelled him ahead of everyone else because of the publicity it has given him, which is a damn smart move.

I really like the guy but I think his popularity is a result of promotion and press attention.

Beastby

Google will push his channel for themselves and him - they know kids love popular things, hence why in any put-down from his fans, they instantly quote the sub-count and video views back at you. Massaging numbers isn't out of the realms of possibility - they don't have to add up, who are Google exactly accountable to, the rest of us? Of course not.

The numbers themselves bring people in (and the daily marketing on YouTube if you're fortunate to have Google on side), isn't it why every video has its view count supplied while on YouTube? I see it as the same as music, a music artist might sell 50m albums but it doesn't assume quality or being any good.

Personally I like him, he always has a cheerful attitude in his videos. It may be a contributing factor that he's become minted from making those videos, but STILL, his personality is refreshing compared to the many gamers who sound like they don't really want to be doing it.[DOUBLEPOST=1416324206,1416324185][/DOUBLEPOST]
Lol im from sweden too.....
Ouch...

He's controversial yet surprisingly likable, these two factors (as well as YouTube backing him) has gotten him to where he is. My opinion but I think he deserves to be in his position because he worked to get there. Plus he's mastered the "art" of not sexually abusing others.

I can't give two 5h1t5 about pew. But that is most likely because he is not on my radar. I like games, but I want to play them myself, not see someone else play them.

I had never seen his channel until now. I checked it out and I could not make it through 30 seconds of the video that popped up on his page. I'm sure he appeals to a different type of subscriber though. I mean he is popular it seems.

Is he still making frequent rape jokes whilst also demeaning women in a good number of his videos, or has he toned that one down?
