Grumble

I understand what they are doing then. They must have completely disregarded what you said in the start of the video and got butt hurt. The attention span of some people...

No, it's one person or a deliberate thing. They are coming too thick and fast and as I say, I disabled it on video a and they popped up instantly on video b. Too convenient.

I had a former moderator from here mass dislike my recent videos in the past, it's not a fun feeling. Im noticing it on the YTtalkTv channel too. Why can't we all get along!

I know right? I really don't care if I get pointless dislikes, and I am fully aware that ratings are good whether they're up or down (in terms of search ranking). All that annoys me is these people don't evne have the balls the anonymously leave a hate comment or something. You know? :/

Ratings do so little for the search engine, and so many people will turn away from a video if the dislikes are even half of the ratings. I disagree with the philosophy that it is okay to have haters do that, saying that they are just helping you. I guess just try not to make enemies or disable the likes for a while like you are.

I know how you feel, I STILL have at least 1 or 2 losers disliking every new video I upload. They've been doing this crap since March but I also have noticed an increase in likes on my videos as well.

Is that right? I always heart that ratings, good or bad, matter because the total number counts overall (or something like that).
They count, but you need a ton of ratings for it to actually do anything. I mean, it makes sense. Viewer retention, tags, and views count the most. Then activity on the video like comments and likes. The ones with more activity go up, of course, but if people see a bunch of down votes, they'll leave, which loses you viewer retention.

I think they do matter just for the fact that some of the bigger youtubers poorly fill in the meta data for their videos and still rank high(est) in search because they have so many fans to rate their videos... as well as youtube giving them a hand of course xD
