That was one of the main reasons they changed the comments system. To prevent spammers writing comments and then using bots to upvote their comment from multiple accounts.

Lmao.....they try to prevent spammers...and now all of the comments are 3 pages long, and links with viruses :P
 
I noticed the same thing, that there are very recent comments with no upvotes in the top, but I assumed it's Google's way of giving the newer comments a chance. I mean, if nobody can see new comments anymore because the top section fills the whole page, then new comments have no chance of getting replies or upvotes to actually get to the top. Something has to be done about that.

no...you have full control of your brand, if you dont want someone directly speaking to you, you should have the option to stop it, want me to come inside your house at 2 in the morning and start a conversation with you? freedom of speech does exist, doesnt it? if your complaining about gifts i cant see how you deserve anything.

As of right now, i dont care about you guys problems anymore, why? because you dont know the difference between a plague and a blessing, so you deserve neither, just silence.

Can somebody explain to me why exactly I should hate those new changes? Honestly, I'm getting more traffic onto my channel than I've ever gotten before! :D

I'm not angry at anyone. On the contrary - I got left a very positive comment from a new viewer who liked, subbed, shared and commented and I wanted to reply to thank him but couldn't. I PM'ed him and he told me he didn't mean to block replies but he finds it all confusing.

The point I was making is that a messaging system where comments can only go in one direction seems flawed. My feedback to Google+ is that there should be an exception for at least the channel owner to be able to reply to comments on his video. That would make more sense.
