Getting a new editing program..

Hey, thanks for your reply! I'm still staring at them all on eBay! Is that adding layers thing what you use to make a clone? That's the main thing I want it for! :) Where did you buy it? :) thanks

I made a tutorial for cloning in After Effects on my channel, the most important part is to have a tripod, and make sure your camera doesn't move in-between shots.

I had typed out the tutorial here, but then just deleted it because it made no sense what-so-ever XD, you'll have to watch it to understand, just go to my channel and search "Cloning Tutorial".

Yeah that's a good point. Like your camera can't even move a tiny fraction, otherwise it will all seem 'off'.

It can be, depending on how you buy it, it may be overkill for what you need it to do though, the upside to that is that if you want to move into more advanced effects someday you already have the software, the downside is that you will pay more, not sure if I already mentioned this or not in this thread, but you can get all the adobe editing programs for $50 a month with Adobe Creative Cloud, if subscription services don't sound so great to you can get Adobe CS6 Student and Teacher edition (no difference in programs, you just need to provide verification to adobe that you are in school) for $550, pricy, but it's the only software you would need to buy for a long time.

I assume you are in school, if your not my apologies XD

anyway, if you are not planning on doing lots of effects in your videos and your more of a blogger type person, you probably should not get after effects. if your on a Mac get Motion 5, it's $50, and it is like Apple's version of After Effects, far less expensive, and it will be able to do mostly anything you need it too, I own both programs, but use After Effects since I prefer it's interface better.
