Getting a new editing program..

Sorry but After Effects is still my favorite editor. Mainly because of how easy it is to adjust video sizes to boxes. Don't even go there on Sony Vegas.. It's horrible.
There isn't a great deal between the two tbh, some people prefer Vegas, some people prefer AE.
Trial them out and see which ones best for you.

Hi, not sure if I'm too late for this to be of any use. I was in the same boat, decided to put a bit of effort in by buying editing software. I use Sony Movie Studio Platinum Suite 12. It's not quite the robust/ fully-fledged package that Sony Vegas is. But tbh unless you're a professional video editor, you won't get the full benefit of Vegas. And at £25, it's a tiny fraction of the cost. It will more than cover what you asked for, and a hell of a lot more. Plus there's things like expansions and plug-ins available online if you want to boost its already impressive content.
I use it mainly for editing the overall look of my video, adding layers (i.e. picture-in-picture) and adding end cards with text and stuff. It's a fair amount of money, I know, but I'm really glad I spent that £25.

Hey, thanks for your reply! I'm still staring at them all on eBay! Is that adding layers thing what you use to make a clone? That's the main thing I want it for! :) Where did you buy it? :) thanks

I got mine from Amazon. Ordered it on a Sunday and it arrived within the week, so you can begin to get to grips with it fairly soon. I'll be honest, there's a bit of a learning curve! But there's plenty of tutorials and videos online to help explain what to do. Regarding your clones, it's not something I use myself, but yes it's probably something the software can handle. Are you planning on recording one in your normal setting, one on a green screen, and then chromakeying it for superposition?

I was just planning on sitting on the left hand side, and saying what I need to say, and then sitting on the right hand side and doing the clones reactions, and then putting the two together, there is a tutorial on how to do it on YouTube, so I'm just hoping this version can do it, as the other versions cost quite a bit more! (pro ones)

Yeah I've been having a look around (slow day at work lol), and the suite I suggested can definitely handle it.
