Gaming Commentary and What to Expect in Videos

There is something that bothers me about my own commentary in my gaming videos (I play indie games, horror games, AAA title games, and more. [Alot of variety of games on the channel]). My target audience is basically surrounding my age(I am 16), as well as younger kids as well.

So my main question is what commentary would you expect from a creator who aims for that demographic?

your commentary should have quite immature jokes, around the current internet trends, memes and drama happening on youtube, your videos should have the saturation turned up and be edited with a million and one cuts as that's the theme that seems to be popular.

in terms of your videos currently, the thumbnails are very dark, perhaps try editing with coloured shapes or different screenshots. you want your banner, channel icon and thumbnails to be cohesive (i need to update mine, ehe). your actual commentary is very average: your most recent video has quite unclear diction, and i can't understand your voice as consistently as i would need to. very few jokes or bits of banter seem to be going on, and your commentary is entirely about the game and not very anecdotal, which is a popular trend. be more high energy and you might see some more success.

Why not try to be yourself and "brand" yourself with your own style?

Thank you!! I'll definitely try a bunch of other things! As well as I myself am a very energetic person but sometimes when I record I think I lose a bit of that lol

try talking to yourself in the mirror for practice, it helps your ability to talk fluently with the energy you need :)
