Gaining and losing subscribers, am i alone?

When I say "who", I mean the number of people who unsubbed due to closed accounts. It's only a tiny percentage of those who unsub. In my case only about 3% of all people who unsub are from closed accounts. Most people who unsub are people who just don't want to sub anymore. It happens.

The number of closed accounts is in analytics -> subscribers, at the bottom.

That reminds me, I saw a video on a subject that wasnt typical for a channel and they had in caps in the description to not subscribe if you are viewing this video it was the first time I saw something like that, goes to show how much people dont want people to become dead subs because they liked a video that isnt usual for a channel.

81 in total for lifetime lost because of closed accounts :D

I recently stopped any mention of subbing to my channel in my outro. I'm still getting 240 subs per day though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I dont feel its always necessary me, people always say use call to actions and I agree they can help but the second someone starts saying subscribe etc you know the content is over and the credits are beginning ready for you to leave :D

Losing subs is natural wastage. Don't worry about who's leaving or even who is staying, concentrate on those who are engaging.

It's all part of the YouTube journey as everyone gains and looses subs all the time but just try and figure out what's going wrong but if you can't then it's just the subscribers deciding not to like it any more.

I think if they get to the outro, then they have already decided if they want to sub anyway, particularly if it's a long video.

Well, perhaps this thread was me speaking too soon. I gained 9 today and haven't lost any. Maybe it was just a cleanup. To everyone that commented, I thank you. Everyone had great input and I really appreciate you all, :).

To Crown, WOW! 240 a day. I dream of that, lol. Would be even better to pull in about 1,000,000 views a day though, :).

Yeah I have been stuck at 300 plus subs for months now from gaining and losing subs. Imma just say its YouTube deleting old accounts not connected to google plus lol

I gain and lose subs, too. It's normal YouTube-ness. ^^ Sometimes I try to tell myself it was just somebody clicking the subscribe button and then.."oops! Didn't want to do that.." and then clicking it again to unsubscribe. I only think this because sometimes a person from a country that isn't as commonly interested in my videos subscribe and unsubscribe in the same day. Those cases sort of inflate your unsubscribe and subscribe numbers. There are also closed accounts, like some of the above posters mentioned. Usually people unsubscribe from me because they want to unsubscribe. Maybe they are tired of my content and want to watch other folks. Sometimes I wonder if I'd even subscribe to my channel...lol! I'm not sure what the answer to that is... xD

I think unsubscribers are overall a good thing. It's better to have active and supporting viewers than big subscriber numbers with no community engagement. As long as the channel is still gaining overall, then I think it is okay. =)
