It is kind of a big deal for me. Since I joined, my icon doesn't show up in the subscriptions bar on the left. Have a solution for that? Don't say 'wait longer' like YouTube support did. A few weeks each time seems like enough when THE SAME IMAGE UPLOADED INSTANTLY TO THE SUBSCRIPTION BOX ON MY OTHER ACCOUNT!!!

lol calm down batty! I don't have a solution, though I don't see how that's a big deal... it doesn't change how you use YouTube, nor does it change how people see your channel/videos.

Sorry, I've been spending weeks with stupid YouTube support with no help. You don't see how that's a big deal? Who are you more likely to unsubscribe to: Someone with a blank grey space in the middle of a bunch of colorful icons or one of the colorful icons?

I don't unsubscribe because of avatars.... lol.
 
I just changed my Youtube avatar, which is the Google+ avatar. It took about 15 to 24 hours for it to finally change on Youtube. Just be patient.
Also, I've said this before on another thread, just embrace Google+. Theres a ton of people on there, so use it to your advantage like I have. I added a bunch of peeps to my circles who added me back and also I've been posting my videos in 2 different communities which have been getting me quite a few new fans as well as views. Its really not that big a deal like everyones whining about. I only go on it to post my vids in the communities and to respond to comments on the vids there.
My point is, if it has worked for me, it probably will work for others.
 
Not only does it not affect you in your performance on YouTube, it also helps a lot in terms of SEO just for having your G+ and YouTube hooked up.
 
By the way that dude just prove that he doesn't want G+ but hell, he doesn't know why he doesn't want it.... ( hem... Not sure if this sentence makes sense...)
