I just use iMovie. Maybe not the most intuitive software, but free. And I've found some ways to work around my limitations to still do the edits I want.

The best I think would be DaVenci Resolve.

I am using VSDC free software for windows PCs. it is very good one. I cannot say it is professional but it can help for general video editing. if you have an excellent software, you will save tine and efforts. unfortunately, most of them are paid softwares.

VSDC is actually very decent (if it doesn;t crash on you like mine does), Davinci Resolve is great as well but with a steep learning curve.
