Fouseytubes contest?

since following/liking an all social media es required I always find this is a loop hole. There is no way they are able to check for sure they have done this, they don't know what the person's facebook is, or their twitter so I don't see any point....
He did say he would ask for a screenshots from the winning person for proof.[DOUBLEPOST=1407175403,1407175030][/DOUBLEPOST]Nobody has commented on the thing that bugs me most about this contest which is how unprofessional it is. Just putting be a YouTuber contest in the title won't work. If he wants to seem professional he really needs to get an e-mail or have a better way to do it. Also, that way people could upload their video as an unlisted video if they don't want their subscribers to see it. Also, it sounds like he is just giving away his old stuff he doesn't use anymore, which also seems unprofessional.
I have been making videos since 2008 and have taken four years of video classes at school. I know how use the equipment and make good videos, I just don't have the money to buy good equipment. I am the kind of person Fousey probably is looking for in this contest. I am not entering though. If this contest were run a little differently and by a different person I might give a shot and see what happens.

Read my post above, there's no point to him in a video being unlisted, it garners no attention and in turn gets him no more figures than he would have without it being entered.

I don't agree with you on sorting the entries by title being bad, this isn't 2009, there's tonnes of YouTube services that let you sort videos by any item such as titles, it is a great way to automatically sort through alot of videos without needing to check through 1000s of emails.

I was talking about the people entering the contest if they wanted to upload video unlisted. But I do get what you are saying it does benefit Fousey, if you can't upload the video unlisted. However, it would benefit the people entering the contest if they could make an unlisted video.
I just searched "Foseytube become a YouTuber contest" and there were over 74,000 results and who knows if those are all entries or not. A lot of people who entering the contest don't know how to title the video properly or just mess up titling the video. I looked through the comments of his video and someone commented they entered, but the title of their video is spelled wrong. There are so many video contests out there, I'm now talking about just by YouTubers, but companies and organizations put on video contests all the time. I have entered some video contests before and there was always a way to submit the entry, either via e-mail a form to fill out on their website or some other way. I told my mom about the contest and before I could even finish what I was saying, once I said that you enter by putting the contest in the title of your video, she stopped me and told me that was not the right way to run a contest. My mom and I enter contests quite frequently and have even won a few things. You can disagree, but in my opinion I think his method for entering the contest is really really unprofessional.

Its more content then equipment.
Remember, some viral videos with millions of views were filmed on a low quality smartphone!

These YouTube contests are merely scams. They do it because they get revenue and publicity, and at the end they just make a fake name up. I seriously doubt that anyone is going to get anything out of this besides the people making these contests.

Using YouTube search is simply not the same as automatically pulling the results.

Search will show you any videos with those terms as singular or any mix, whereas via a system you can make it so that it only shows videos that exactly match that title.

Well yeah, it's obviously being done for publicity.

He obviously wants to get his name out there (through threads like this one ;) ) to people who have never heard him (like me) lol

Exactly my point. If an entry isn't titled exactly the way Fousey wants it, he might not see it.

His system (no matter how much you might disagree with it) is actually quite brilliant. By using youtube's search algorithm to look for contest entries, the ones at the top will probably be the entries with the most potential reach-and rewarding those entries with the prize will give him the most publicity, which is what this contest is all about. If he wasn't after publicity, he would have just scoured YouTube and randomly picked a few channels to reward instead of running a contest.

You have a really good point, well said. Never thought of it that way, I guess I can see why he is doing what he is doing. I still think it is unprofessional though.[DOUBLEPOST=1407191876,1407191672][/DOUBLEPOST]Also, just wondering has anyone (besides me) actually watched the video about the contest?[DOUBLEPOST=1407203799][/DOUBLEPOST]I don't why I care about this so much. I guess I am just fascinated by the idea and I love contests. I just watched some more of the entries for it. Regardless of whether they win or not, this is helping YouTubers, there was one girl who had 80 subs and now she has 1,000 subs in just a week and all her videos got more views, and she is not the only one. This contest is really helping YouTubers grow their audience.
