First Dislike! Yay!

So, I've only been uploading videos for 2 weeks and I've just received a dislike on one of my videos. I'm not trying to gloat, i'm actually quite sad. For those of you who have a reached you first dislike, How did you handle the situation? Should I grow a hardened shell to protect myself from further dislikes?

P.S. - To be fair, the gentleman who I ASSUMED disliked my video commented on it and stated why. And it was his observation of my singing that I took into account a seriously.

I would grow a hardened shell. Dislikes will come all the time. The thing you have to keep in mind is that people are watching and it's the people that like your videos who will keep you going Keep pleasing those who like the videos and use those who dislike as a reason to prove them wrong!

Dislikes will come, I entered an animation contest online and just after I uploaded my work I got ten dislikes, I assume it's the competition

I generally get at least one or two dislikes on every video, no worries You can't please everyone!

i think its good that people leave dislikes. I havent gotten one yet but i feel like it would motivate me to better. and I mean you cant please everyone right??

When I was a smaller channel I was actually so happy when I got a dislike on a video. That means it was making it into the public eye where people have an opinion whether the vid is good or not. There is always going to be people that dislike your video for some reason.

I still like dislikes. A like or a dislike helps your video growth as weird as that may sound.

My most popular video has over 700 dislikes - I know having more than 700 dislike on 1 video is crazy! But I learn from videos that people dislike and it makes me a better youtuber!

Think about it, even the most popular person has lots of people who dislike their work. The key is to realize a dislike just means the person is acknowledging your video and reacting to it. They are saying, "This is not for me. " it doesn't mean you failed. My video with the most views has the highest rate of dislikes. It provokes a strong reaction in people, and that is ok with me. Dislikes don't bother me and they shouldn't bother you.
