Final Cut Pro X

The problem with Final Cut Pro X is that it's not for professional editing. It's significiantly less powerful than most programs out there. This would be like Sony Vegas coming out with Sony Vegas X which has the same features as Windows Movie Maker..

I understand but the nice thing is with final cut pro X is that it is industry standard and used quite a lot in the industry but sony vegas pro is not industry standard so my point is it is nice having the knowledge for something industry standard then it can be aiding in the future :)

Can you enumerate the features FCPX isn't capable of?

I would have agreed with you when it was first released (absence of multicam editing was particularly troublesome), but after the updates, I'm finding very little that FCPX doesn't do, with comparable performance.

if you want simple editing use sony vegas simple being the word lo
If you want more complex editing, Final Cut X isn't the best, I think that's why quite a few people are annoyed at it, coming from older FC versions I imagine they were expecting something better..then they dumbed it down and it got backlash.
l and like you said final cut pro is good for complex videos :)

I'm gonna have to correct you on that one. Industry standard is pretty much confined to (from least frequent to most): FCP7, Premiere, and Avid.

The main (for me) is that you don't have as much control over little settings and such.. The color correction algorithm isn't as great.

That's the real issue with me. From other people I heard they removed little features while editing to make it a little bit harder/longer to do because most people won't use them and they even removed some short cuts!

In terms for me, I "upgraded" to final cut pro x and I am pretty satisfied. It's essentially just simpler, which might not be better.. but is different.[DOUBLEPOST=1370304400,1370304364][/DOUBLEPOST]

That's another huge issue.. Coming from FCP7 and then this you're like.. where's the new stuff... um. what.

well i have been using Adobe Premiere Pro since cs2 and now am using cs6 i have never used Final cut. but as long as you can get you out come how you like it makes no difference

My college has kept telling me the reason they use FCP is because it's industry standard, yet I hear the exact opposite everywhere online..Silly college :/
