However recently, I put hours into a video.. only for it to literally get no views.. it's kind of defeating at times.

Get promoting then, if you think the content is actually great after all that time working on it, you need to plaster it all over relevant facebook groups and carefully on reddit (never spam too hard on reddit, you'll just get an explosion of dislikes...)

I never feel like wasting my time the main reason is im doing YouTube for myself 1st then others 2nd if people view my videos and like & sub ect then that is a brucy bonus and im very thankful for it

If you enjoyed making the video, then IMO it's not a waste of time.

I don't necessarily feel like I'm wasting my time, only because I don't make videos that I want others to like, I make videos that would be funny to me. I use my videos as like a visual journey with where I am in life at that moment, if people want to watch as well, than hey that's great! Don't be discouraged, just make sure to do the best you can do!
