Envy of other youtubers?!

Its actually not bad to be a little envious. But try being it in a positive way. Like watch a channel and say "man I can't wait until I'm as popular as you ". Never say if but say when is what my mother says ;)
 
Interesting topic! I look up to those Youtubers with more of admiration and a motivator to keep doing what we are doing! Sometimes it can be discouraging to see how much success they have versus what we may not, but it is still fun to watch what they do as well :)
 
Haha yes I have. LeafyIsHere posted a picture of his SocialBlade on Twitter and it showed he had made around $4000 in one day! Haha but other than that, no, not really
 
Absolutely. I think it is natural in an environment where the vast majority of the community is measuring themselves against the same metrics. Definitely doesn't mean you can't also be happy for them as well. For instance, my close friend who started at the same time as me posted a video recently that gained him 50 subscribers over the course of 72 hours. I have never gained more than 6 in the same time period so while I'm very happy for him I would love to experience that same reaction from a video.
 
I think all new YouTubers are envious of accomplished/successful YouTubers. It is so difficult in the beginning. We are still trying to figure everything out.:cold: But they have already figured it out and have gotten beyond a lot of the struggles, and now reap all of the benefits.:wavespin:

I wouldn't call It "envy" but asking myself: "where am I wrong?" Hahahah :D

I'm an animator too (even if I haven't already uploaded any content, because are not contents of mine: works) so I know what u mean.. I watched dozens of excellent animations getting just hundreds or a couple of thousands views even if they deserved much more..

But the major part of people love poop things that make them laugh u.u

But personally, I highly appreciate people that upload contents like the "blender open movies" and so many more.. I started a video series in which I use to highlight these kind of videos.. ^^

But laughing poop will continue to have a wider spread.. This is a reality to face u.u

YES YES AND YES! I know a guy who started his channel a year after me and has blown up! I am so pleased for him and how his channel is doing but at the same time, I can't help but wish it was me :(
