Elgato Commentary Off Sync?

unknown_user0032

I Love YTtalk
I just did a test recording on Far Cry 3. The game sound matches up perfectly with the video, but my commentary (which was recorded within the Elgato software) is way out of sync.

Does anyone know how I can fix this, or am I going to have to re-record? :(

Thanks!

I had problem with that software, my commentary would cut off at some point and stuff. I was rendering bunch of clips night before the recording and the happened. I restarted the PC and everything is working fine. Try restarting before recording the game play.

Thanks I'll try that. It turns out you can't add in external audio on that particular software, so I think what I'll do is record my commentaries through Quicktime, record my video and then import it all into Screenflow (no data will be lost so quality will remain good) and edit in there. It's much better software :)

well if you use Sony Vegas it can split the audios and itll be easier to like probably sync it in, idk if this will help but this is what i do if my vid is not insync

Im not sure how to fix it but as a suggestion try recording your voice seperately with such programs as audacity and then link them up, this way you can be sure it's correct and the quality will most likely be higher. Your elgato can then run smoother as well :D Hope this helps with your problem

I use Audacity & Sony Vegas Pro 11. I have never had a problem with those two together, although sometimes the MP4 files that my HDPVR records doesn't match together with Sony Vegas until I fixed that problem. I think I am looking into better solutions but at the moment this works for me. Try it out Frankie.

I did a tester recording which I'm about to upload recording audio on Quicktime and visuals with the Elgato and edited in Screenflow. Worked a treat. just hoping the render works (been on 'under a minute' for a few minutes now!) :)

You can use audio mixer to mix up different audio. i capture my own voice and also skype voice and record everything in Elgato software and works fine
