DSLR Users, what mic do you use?

Styxie

I Love YTtalk
So I might be buying a t3i in a little bit for some filming and I'm wondering about cheapish/decent external mics!
So, what do you use? Would you recommend it?
I'd get a H4N Zoom or something since I've actually used it, but it's just a little too pricey..
Suggestions? :)
Ta

Edit: On camera or external, both work :)

I've never used a microphone because I've never felt the need to but maybe I'll look into them just because you posted this thread and I have a shopping addiction. ;)

I've used the mic portion on occasion, and it does pretty well - not gonna handle much distance, obviously. The lav mic works best for my style :)
Yea, plus I can take it around for audio interviews which is a plus :). Lav mic might be what i'm looking for too, not 100 percent sure.[DOUBLEPOST=1366069386,1366069346][/DOUBLEPOST]

If you record vlog stuff etc a mic is great, I don't mind bad audio quality as long as the sound is good when watching skits/vlogs

A lot of pro YouTubers use the Rode Pro as well. I've got too much echo to use it effectively in my apartment, but it's a nice mic :)

I use a Rode Pro, but just to sync with my Yeti since I mostly film within my apartment. The Rode picks up a lot of white noise so you need to remove that in Audacity or something.
