Does this seem desperate?

Pretty solid creative idea. Good to hear that you are gonna do it! If it works out for you, just keep following the trends and make videos in the same style. Like many have said before: following a trend has nothing to do with being desperate. Even if you are not a fan of a movie, why would you not make a workout video about it? Make that creative idea of yours work to it's fullest. You are still doing what you love. You are just adding a flavor of the month on top of it. Best of luck with the video!

You ain't being desperate, you are just engaging the people who are looking for such videos, you are helping them to learn something from inspirations. I would say if you really wanna make content of your own ideas rather than trends, I would say follow the trends until you earn real subscribers, then start putting your own ideas along with trends. People would love it

I think this is a really good idea, and I'd watch it! Action movies always make me wanna workout so a workout video based on Wonder Woman is a win win. Can't wait for you to upload it :)

I don't think its desperate. If you are doing it to get views, maybe. But if you're doing it because its part of you and what you actually do then go for it. Just don't do it because you're trying to increase views, if it doesn't work then you'll stop.

This. If you can find a way to make it entertaining and tailored to your own brand, then I think it's more wise marketing than being desperate. A lot of YouTubers follow trends because they know it'll make people click. Just make sure you have some additional video ideas lying around for when there's a dry spell between movies and you'll be fine.

Who needs enemies when your friends say things like that? Not only is following trends a good thing, it is encouraged!

Hey YTers

My channel revolves around workout videos, and the very first video on my channel was posted around the time that Suicide Squad was coming out so I decided to do a Harley Quinn Inspired Workout and to this day it is still the one with the most views and interaction!

It was such a fun video to make, and since I enjoyed it and it had such a huge reach, I thought of doing a Wonder Woman workout... When I mentioned this to my friend though, she told me it seems desperate to do workouts related to films that are being released or have been recently released. To quote her "it's like you're just using these popular movies to get views." It kind of brought me down because I never thought about it that way, I mean, yes I'm so glad that it helped my channel grow and it got a lot of views, but that is really not the main reason I wanted to make the video.

What do you guys think? Does that really seem desperate?

Totally not. Same freinds will be jealous of you when you are popular. Everyone makes regular video but you want to add you own twist to it. That will make you different and successful.

I dont think its desperate at all! I think thats a great idea to make your video stand out from every other work out channels/vids :D

I don't know why a friend would say something like that. I swear sometimes the people around you who say things without thinking can be the biggest impediment to success. She may have meant well, but really it's not her place to tell you that.

By the way, in the current YouTube environment with the way the algorithm is, trying to make your videos more relevant by making them related to a current trend is just the smart thing to do if you want your channel to get more views and grow. Getting your own ideas in with the trend is part of it, so make sure you put a part of yourself into each video, even if it's trend-related. You probably already know that!

Your "friend" is just hating. People love these type of workouts, don't let her hinder your growth bc she can't deal with your success.
