Does fan finder kill cpm?

You might get confused but the main function of fan finder is for people to use it so google/youtube can advertise their content to others for FREE, right?

Most of the time, I see ads which is obviously came from fan finder. And my cpm does not work well unlike the time fan finder did not exist yet.

So my question is, when youtube shows an ad/video that came from fan finder, is that for free or we still get paid when someone watches that?

Well, fan finder makes your video an ad before a video is played. And you kinda can't put ads on an...ad. Unless people actually click on the video and watch it, you're not going to get any money from the views on it.

From what I'm aware of no 1 gets paid for those ads since the advertiser doesn't pay. Ads from Google AdWords is where the advertiser has to pay.

Then it just means that it kills the cpm of youtubers. :/
Probably depends on how many fan finder ads are displayed on 1 channel though and to the amount of viewers. Unless Google is somehow paying for the ads themselves which I highly doubt they'd do. It seems like a good excuse for them to run ads for free in a way lol If you're really concerned what I'd recommend looking into is whether you can block fan finder ads if you want to go down that road. I know via AdSense there are ways to block certain types of ads, not sure if that includes fan finder ads, you can also block specific ad URLs from showing if need be. Maybe your network can help to, since they should have a little more control over ads, in fact from what I'm aware of, it's a networks job to provide/manage the ads displayed on your channel. Just a few options that might help.

1. Fan finder ads can't have ads on them, thus they are not monetised.
2. Why would one video affect your entire CPM
3. Your video should still get views other than from fan finder views.
4. I don't understand your concern, unless your fan finder video is your only successful video.

I don't think that's the question. I think karl is asking whether your CPM will be affected if YouTube starts placing other people's fan finder ads on your videos since YouTube does it for free.

soudesuka, well either way, most of your income shouldn't come from preroll ads. An occasional fan finder shouldn't kill your CPM
