Does anyone else accept the fact that their content is bad ?

I just want to know who out there genuinely realises that their content can do with a lot of work. It seems to me a lot of people think they are already good and editing and have good content.

I'm just struggling to understand the mind sets of a lot of youtuber's these days, or maybe it's just people in general. Everyone is full of confidence whether it is called for or not. I have seen it on twitter, facebook even on here and it really baffles me so I genuinely feel that I am just out of touch with how people think.

Do you want to know how the best way to grow is ? It's to admit that your videos are bad. For instance my videos are terrible in so many ways. People tell me other wise and I actually get told things like 'You must put so much time into editing' 'Your editing is sick' but still I know it's bad and I know it needs work.

Basically I really want to tell people to stop thinking they are actually great and start being more humble to themselves so maybe, just maybe they might actually start to focus on how to improve and not just question why they are struggling to get views and subs.

Obviously there are other things that help get your content out there (before anyone says that) but seriously stop rushing to grow that quickly. You have this perfect time to actually hone your skills and quality of your content, also try new things out. Once you have a big viewer base you wont have time for that, You will just have people asking you where the next video is.

Just something for people to ponder on and question themselves about.

well i am never satisfied with my work and i know a lot of my past work that is bad but to say "My content" is bad, nar, sounds like a self esteem issue.

I think most creative people are never really satisfied or love what they do. I think that's how you can set them apart.

Usually when I release a video I think "Wow, this video is gonna be great!" Then a month or so later I might watch it again and think "wtf is this s**t..."

oh yeah. I make ultra low effort crap content on purpose. but now that I have like 34k subs they just automatically get views. I'm over the youtube thing unless I can find a new channel idea. I just poop out a new vid every week to keep the gravy train rolling.

I'm not gonna come out and say my content is terrible in itself. But I know it definitely can be improved. And as I learn and grow there will always be room to KEEP improving.

But, as you said, it all takes time.

My playthroughs are really nothing just filler. People who like my personality will watch those and no one else will.
I spend a lot of time on my montages, but there is still so much more I could do if I knew how to do it, or if I wasn't afraid of copyright and such.
Adding to what was said before I think it's not that your content is 'bad,' you just know you could make it better and you're not satisfied with it!

I know the feeling. I personally think my videos suck, my guitar playing sucks, and my singing sucks. But everyone around me seems to think that I am amazing at all of it. I don't think I'm great. I see many other people's guitar playing, singing, and video making and think, "Wow, that kinda sucks, mine actually seems better than that," but even despite seeing that, I think I still suck and I most definitely have a load of room for improvement, no question. I think it's good to keep that mindset because it helps you to shoot higher and try to get better. I've improved drastically over a short period of time, but I'm shooting to try to get a lot better!

I agree that everyone should take an honest look at what they do. I think I need a lot of work. I have good ideas and sometimes they work out well but to say everything is perfect would be crazy. I don't think it's wrong to be critical of yourself and see what you can do better.
