do you write scripts or talk on the fly?

this is a question i really want to know your answers to. do you write scripts about how your video will go or do you just talk whatever comes into your mind? me personally i just do whatever i think of when im speaking.. i find this enjoyable because you tend to end up with some really funny and interesting things :) my most recent video is a clear explanation of that!

Absolutely a script for my kind of videos. Also keep in mind that English is not my native language, so I have the tendency to trip on my words or take some time to find the right words to express what I want to say, so a script helps me streamlining these issues.

I'm scripted for the most part. I go off on tangents from time to time, but I find if I just free - bird it, I ramble.

I always make a spider diagram/mind map about the subject I'm talking about, and use that as a reference when I hit a blank during recording. I then just talk what comes to mind as it sounds much less robotic and generally more pleasing :)

Depends on the type of video.
For my tech reviews I make a bullet point list of things I NEED to cover and fill in the gaps with words off the top of my head.
Update vlogs I tend to make a few notes of things I want/need to talk about but its mostly from my head.
As for gameplay and lets builds its all non-scripted because it feels more natural that way and I like it.

I feel like for vloggers, it can be easier to script things for specific topics. But for us, we usually dont script things, It turns out funnier and we have a good, constant flow of commentary[DOUBLEPOST=1466961947,1466961895][/DOUBLEPOST]I feel like for vloggers, it can be easier to script things for specific topics. Really all I do, is write down the things I NEED to say about the topic, so say its an update vlog, I would write something like this

- Tell them about the new video coming out soon

- Tell them whats been happening lately

(anything that NEEDS to be said, and then I let my improv skills I totally have to the rest!)

I hope this helped, Dominick.

I usually just talk on the fly, because I feel that it can inspire more spontaneity, which I think is where a lot of my best content comes from. However I will go into a video with a "skeleton" of what I want to talk about, and then I will flesh it out with improvisation.

As a Let's Player, everything is completely improvised on my part. The downside to it is I get side tracked very easily and end up either not finishing my thoughts or changing them mid way through. I'm trying to get better at staying forcused, but it's hard when there's so much happening on screen at one time.
