I'm trying to write some CC for my video. It says it is setting timings. Does it work? Does it help to have them?

I did it for a few videos at the beginning of my YT channel but then stopped because it was quite a bit of effort and I didn't see any improvements or anyone even using it. Up to you though! If you can the time and the patience, go for it! I hear it helps with the SEO. :)

How do you get them done? I tried the set timings on the beginning of one of my videos and it worked quite well. I'm going to try the rest later. What the hell right? Thanks for the input.
 
I write voiceover scripts anyway. Some day I wrote a little program where I feed in this script, then let the video play along and hit a key on every new sentence. The program then spits out a sbv file that I simply upload.

Same. For me, around 8-9% of my views enabled them. Some say it works for SEO so I just have them there. It also helps expand your demographics to those that needs the subtitles like foreigners or hard of hearing.

Yes and Yes.

Inclusive for people with disability or those who can't watch with sound for whatever reason. Easily auto-translated into all supported languages. SEO boost + most important, Yt says it's good to do in the Creator Academy training. Have to listen to the boss. Keep the boss happy.
 
The "Set Timings" feature that YouTube has aligns my script really well with my voice. It's only failed me once out of the 60 or so videos I've made. Really useful and I've also heard from YT rep that it does feed into SEO metadata.
