Do you keep your channel a secret for friends?!

I've only told a couple of my friends I have a YouTube channel but I never give them my name. I feel like they would just laugh at it and make fun of it. I've told my family though, they seem to think its neat.

Some people might not care and would easily tell if they have a Youtube-channel.
Other people work on Youtube and dont tell too many friends or family about their channel. [but they wait untill they are succesfull]

Which person are you?
I mean I tried to but my whole school found out ;-;

No one in real life knows about my youtube channel. They are also completely unaware that I even sing or write. I am simply too insecure about it. Thats what makes youtube so great for me. It is a safe place I can create. Sometimes I wish I had the courage to be more open about my passions, but for now I am terrified of judgement. Maybe one day I will be more brave!

I don`t keep it a secret at all, my family doesn't really understand the whole concept of YouTube but my friends support me, well some of them at least.

I didn't tell people about my channel until this month! I think because I felt it clashes with my "real-life" brand/ career. Now that I quit my job (although still consulting), I feel more at peace with sharing that part of my life with other friends (not all, but some).[DOUBLEPOST=1477678797,1477678571][/DOUBLEPOST]

It's hard but you totally have to put yourself out there! I do think, the fact that you're putting your music online is an important step, so just keep at it. Somewhere along the way you'll gain more and more confidence.
xx

Putting my music online was certainly a (scary) step in the right direction. Hopefully the more I do this, the braver I will become :)

We are the type of people to share with all people! it doesn't matter whether it's family or friends, we are proud of our channel :)
