Do you guys use the annotations?

How do you do the end cards?

I just designed a template in After Effects where I put in a video of me saying thanks for watching and all of that and left spaces for a previous video and a playlist name. I then just overlay the previous video and playlist name for whatever video I'm doing during the editing process for each video.

I feel if there is a tool available to direct interested readers to other videos, you should probably go ahead and use it. Like a lot of people have said, only a small percentage of views may come from them but a view is a view is a view. :)

I just now started putting a link for subscribing to my channel in my videos. Do you guys do this as well? I try to put it out of the way in a corner or something. How much does it help?
Even the YouTube playbook rated it "3 Stars out of 5" in terms of effectiveness.
It helps for linking and adding interactivity in videos, but it just give more of an "edge" to your videos (like wearing clothes in Fallout to increase stats).

I use annotations at the beginning that says prev and next (subscribe) ( subscribe if their is no other episode after it when a new one comes out i leave it as next) that is just like 6 secs of the video and then at the end I use the end card that says prev again next and subscribe :)

I did one series with annotations, I found it took too long to do for no results at all.

Did you evaluate whether you could do your annotations differently for better results?
Was it a series that you did and the videos were over 20 minutes in length?
If that's the case, you'd have to expect your viewers to get through a lot of content to get to the annotation.

Yes, annotations can help a lot! I use them in my outro after the main content of my videos. I usually have a subscribe button as well as other video like the one they just watched.

I always have them in my outro and during the recap of some previous episode segments.

Not using them is a missed opportunity.

You should always use annotation. It's one of those things that it's not going to "hurt" your channel, but it's going to help it for sure.
