Do you guys use the annotations?

Depends on how I feel really. Sometimes I don't bother lol but I try to put up a subscribe annotation 1min before the video ends, then I'll use annotations for any preview videos in the outro.

I used to be really lazy in adding annotations to my videos. Now I've got an end card and links to my channel, a subscribe links and links to relevant playlists.

It does promote a few extra views and subs, but the most important use is to direct your viewers to similar videos on your channel. My subs have exploded since I consistently added annotations to my end card

My main issue with using annotations is how time-consuming they are to add, particularly in a uniform manner.
I suppose I probably should be using them more to highlight start/end card information, since up to now I've simply stuck text in a note for promotion.

I just now started putting a link for subscribing to my channel in my videos. Do you guys do this as well? I try to put it out of the way in a corner or something. How much does it help?

To answer your question about if I use it: Yes I do, at the end of almost every video (recently). Does it help? Yeah, I've gotten a few subs from it, but honestly, other ways of promotion are better. Like facebook and all that stuff are better, but it does help a bit. From personal experience, when I watch a video, I will most likely click on the annotation to see what it is (giving it a view) and whatnot, but I mean what's the worst that happens? Nothing? lol. A lot of bigger youtubers use it, so I would suggest it, but use it sparingly; like don't make them HUGE and annoying. Watch one of TobyGames's videos to see what I mean. He's good with all that. lol

I no longer do annotations to other videos or the channel or anything like that because it didn't seem to help, but I still use them for basic fact-checking. I do my commentaries live and sometimes I'm not sure on something or I say something that isn't true and I use the annotations to fix things.

I occasionally use annotations - to echo most people here, you're not really losing out having them so it's worth the effort of putting them in.

An end card with annotations directing viewers to more of your videos and asking them to sub is especially important for newer channels. Once your video is over your viewers will be presented with a grid of other videos to click and they won't all be yours! Give them the chance to choose yours before they get to that point!
