Do you film your videos with other people in the house?

ItsBecky

Internet Idiot who loves making people laugh
The reason I am asking is because I love doing videos, but I am very self concious doing videos with my family or whatever in the house, so I only tend to do them when home alone, if there are other people in the house, my true personality can't come out, as I worry about people hearing me talking and thinking I am insane! hahahha,
Anyway this means I tend to be a lot quieter, and can't be as funny etc.
Of course now I am in a uni house with 3 other students, I am worried this will cause a decrease in the amount of videos, due to them being around, as well as obviously the amount of work I am going to get which could also cause issues.

So I am wondering what do other people do? Does it bother you and you do them regardless, or do you like me wait unti you're home alone to do them?

PS: I have told my housemates i do youtube videos but I am still self concious anyway about them hearing me

I totally get you. I live with my parents atm and am afraid of getting too loud, but you gotta work with what you got so I have been gradually getting more and more melike in my videos as a result. One day hopefully you'll grow so used to it that you're no longer self conscious. So just keep being yourself and what seems weird will eventually be normal.

i tried to film with my parents in the house but it felt weird so i dont doesnt help how i have a really small house so i always gotta film when i get it to myself which isnt alot

I record with my gf sometimes in the house, and I don't like it, but that's bc she makes noise! Anyway, I wouldn't be worried about others in the house. I might tell them, hey I'm filming so shut the heck up and I might make a lot noise! You're putting out your content to the whole world, don't be shy around a few other people just bc they know you in real life

I live with my mum and older sister, and I feel most comfortable filming when they are both not in the house. But sometimes mid-filming either one comes back from being out, or one of them just comes straight into my room, interrupting the filming. So yeah it can be quite hard sometimes.

I live with my family, and sometimes I struggle with this as well. I really like to record when they aren't home for the same reasons as you have said. When they are home recording and being louder is hard because im self concious. But I also have the problem of my mom will know I'm recording and come in and interupt me for things that could have waited till later to ask me or talk to me about. Which is frustrating, and I have been meaning to talk to her about it. The last time I recorded though my family was home and I just said screw it and did the best I could to not hold back. If your new housemates know you do Youtube I am sure they would understand why you are loudly and goofyly talking to yourself.

My housemates always tend to knock before they come in, but my mum has a habit of being very loud, when she first comes in the house from being out she shouts hello!! And sometimes she will just knock and walk straight into my room, I love her insane amounts but that can be very irritating when you're trying to film, my dad and my brother aren't home as much, my dad is home most weekends but doesn't tend to walk in without knocking and waiting, and my brother is not around much at all maybe once every couple of months or so, I did do one with them all in the house and I felt it was kind of hurried as I wanted to film it before someone tried to come in my room and/or heard me. Normally it was just me and mum though and she often goes out and does things so I had time to do videos while she was out. I know they will find out one day and they would probably be fine with it just may comment on certain videos I have done, I just want to keep it from them as long as possible haha[DOUBLEPOST=1442620369,1442620178][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yeah I keep telling myself that, one of my housemates even used to do YouTube herself, but I still feel really paranoid about them hearing me haha

I don't have this problem, luckily. I just close my door and draw to my hearts content. :D
