Do I Neeeeed To Be With A Network?

It happens there are a lot of networks out there and more popping up each day. I follow the completionist and he ones tweeted that he gets like three e-mails a day from random networks saying they are number one and want him to join them. There are videos out there as well that are done yearly that list some of the major ones and what they require and what not. I have heard Curse is a good one have a fellow Youtuber who recently joined with them. I also look at it from the point of view of what other youtubers are part of the network. its why I want to join Maker because the bump up from that is Polaris. Hell if Rooster Teeth created a network I would jump on a chance to be part of that network.
Yeah I get emails from companies sometimes. I'll do some more research for sure. Shoot if they started one id probably be all up on that lol

Has anyone found a network effective in growing their channel (ie upping the subscriber, view and interaction levels)? I'm not interested in the monetization potential, just on getting the content in front of more viewers.

That's not really what networks are for. They give you the tools you need sometimes like music, graphic designers sometimes, but the promoting is up to you.

I am currently with Freedom, but I am not really sure how it benefits me honestly.
I have a gaming channel, and I thought back when I joined Freedom that gaming channels needed to be with a network for extra protection or something. But It doesn't really seem to do much other than take a cut of what my channel earn, music, and a forum sort of like this one but more spammy.
I was wondering if I even should be with a network right now, or if I should is there a better option than freedom that also doesn't have a lock in contract?
I'm actually with Freedom! as well and I'm thinking about leaving them and going with Creative Nation. Literally, the best thing about being with a network is click-bomb protection. That and no minimum payouts/paying you with PayPal. Other than that, it's no different than a regular partnership. In the sense of copyright (like if you ever got flagged for something related to copyright) going through them makes it easier because they've got your back, in the sense of any network you're with. I don't personally work with their forums and I'll make my own music if I want music in my videos (because I'm a music producer). There's no harm with being partnered or being with a network at any time in your career. There's definitely better options. I went with Freedom! at first because I knew they didn't have a bunch of requirements and one my friends had a sub network with them. I heard that the best networks to go with are Creative Nation, Curse, and BBTV. I've worked with BBTV before, but I don't remember a lot about them and I wasn't with them when they changed their payout to 80/20. The best things to look for in a network are no minimum payouts, no lock in contracts, and a good payout rate. Creative Nation and Curse will give you 90/10 (from what I understand), though all three of these networks have no minimum payouts and no lock in contracts. I'd have to be really big, apparently, to go with Curse, so I'm doing my research and asking Creative Nation what they require. If their requirements aren't out of my range, I'm going with them. If not, I'll be with Freedom! until I meet one of the network's requirements. And from what I've read, Curse and BBTV are moreso gaming networks than Creative Nation is. I believe that Creative Nation is a general network (any and every niche on YouTube).

huh thanks for the info man :)
I will have to look into creative nation possibly. I really really want to get with curse one day. Hopefully after this crazy semester at school I will have more time to buckle down with growing my channel so that I can get with Curse. That is my sort of long term goal at the moment. I don't really care if my channel gets big, but I do want to be with Curse, because they seem to be exactly what I want. They have a high pay out, and no lock in contract. They are extremely reputable from all the research that I have done too. Freedom is just kind of odd is the thing. They have been promising all these changes since I started almost a year ago and non of them have been implemented. they even took away this chat thing in like september and said it would be back in october and it's still not back and its mid november now! haha Also I didn't realize when I joined that they were based out of the Philippines which seems kind of odd to me. I'm probably going to do some pros and cons lists here pretty soon about leaving freedom, or finding a dif network and all my other options.

Np. Curse is an excellent network, it seems like. And Freedom! really is odd lol. From my experience, they don't offer a lot to begin with, muchless what they'll do for you. I do realize that networks in general do offer things that people like and want, despite whether it's useful to me. And I thought that they were based in Hong Kong because of a tax thing, according to the FAQ. It doesn't matter, though, because the Philippines don't have the fan funding option either, which was one of the things that I was looking forward when I heard that they were rolling it out. Creative Nation is based in Ireland and it's not available there either atm, so when I go to another network, in most cases, I may not get fan funding just yet, but the decision will be based on the revenue split. Freedom!, from what I've been hearing, has treated their people terribly and they have a low revenue split for partners. They, by no means, have a good reputation (or at least on YTtalk it seems lol). It wouldn't be a bad thing for me to leave Freedom! anyways, but it really discourages me to stay with them after all of the stuff I've heard about them.

Yeah I have not had any specifically terrible incidences with Freedom, but some things seem kind of off with the them more so the longer I am with them. I have herd of tons of people not getting paid, especially if they decide to leave. And yea the rev split is terrible. I think a lot of people are with them because it doesn't require ANYTHING to be apart of them. When I applied I was like I doubt I have enough subs or views to get in, and then they let me it. I was at 20 ish subs lol They even offered to have my channel that I don't have any subs on at all and haven't posted any videos to. Totally weird.

I haven't experienced anything with the pay yet because I hadn't earned enough and enough time hasn't passed for it to come in. But I had my doubts at first as well because I didn't think I had enough. But I tried it out and got it. I can agree with you about why people join it in the first place. It really is a weird network.

I was with Freedom! They do the best they can, but honestly there are MUCH better deals out there. I have a lot of people who join other partnerships, I joined Curse and already noticing a big difference. Freedom! Gives you the option to come and go as you please, so if you feel you aren't benefiting there I recommend looking for another form of partnership. I know that a lot of Creative nation people are on this forum, and they could give you advice on that. I started helping an up coming MCN, but I recommend you check out all your options. I think for you Creative nation might be a great fit :-) Hope that helps!
